Winner of the YouTube Play Guggenheim Biennial Festival. Soundtrack available here: http://tinyurl.com/7xj6net Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating. I sent the music to the photographer, Paulo Pinto, who I Googled on the internet. He told his editor, who told a reporter and the story ended up as an interview in the very same newspaper. Here I've posted a short video made with the photo, the music and the score (composed by the birds). Also check my live presentation of Birds on the Wires at TEDx São Paulo: http://www.tedxsaopaulo.com.br/jarbas-agnelli/ Music made with Logic. Video made with After Effects. This is a journey in music & cinema. The intention is to present a short segment as if it were excerpted from a larger work. Here's what happened the day before: http://vimeo.com/35932967 MUSIC: I composed and recorded the music during February, 2011. The piano and accordion I performed/recorded on acoustic instruments, with Digital Performer. The voice-over & orchestral sounds I recorded via Logic Studio and the Garritan Professional Orchestra. VIDEO: I shot the video over Christmas weekend, 2010, Canon 7D, Zacuto Z-Finder, EF 50mm, EFS 17-85mm, Manfrotto fluid head tripod. Filmed in Ronda & Sevilla, Spain. My great new friends Tony Bishop and Eva Bratek drove me all over southeast Andalucía, and enabled me to get the lovely shots in Ronda - thank you forever! POETRY: Federico García Lorca, from "El poeta pide a su amor que le escriba" EDIT: Final Cut Pro Caleb Vinson & I edited this monster: thank you so much pal, you are a my right hand man. I hope you enjoy the journey.

Direction & Edit: Caleb Vinson Cinematography, Edit & Sound: Paul Hamilton, Canon 7D, EF 50mm 1.4, Zacuto Z-Finder; Digital Performer, Logic Studio. Story: Paul Hamilton, Liala Beukema & Caleb Vinson Liala, Caleb & I conceived this video, sitting at a table in Trader Todd's pub, and how we should produce a video for Lake View Lutheran church, lakeviewlutheran.com. I thought of my friend, Vicky Marlow, who has spent untold hours of her life helping people get off of crutches, and out of wheelchairs. Her mantra is "pay it forward." Check out her Vimeo page: http://vimeo.com/surfacehippy/videos Some of us may believe in God, some of us may believe in Karma, some of us may believe in nothing. This short story shows us what is possible... Thank you thank you thank you to those who made this possible: Nick, Fred, Melissa, Denise, Tim, Jeff, Liala, Niki, Joe, Steve, Todd & Virginia, Something Old-Something New, Zachariah, Lake View Lutheran Congregation! This is my 2nd collaboration with Caleb Vinson, and our 1st time editing together: I am a firm believer that two heads are better than one. This man is brilliant. Sylvain Renaud, http://vimeo.com/user2668835, a great friend of mine here on Vimeo, journeyed to Pond Inlet, in Nunavut, Canada, to capture these images. EXTREME conditions in the arctic: -30ºF!! He used a Canon 7D and a 5D. The video here was transcoded multiple times because of my needs to use it in Logic, and is intended as a test for the music. To watch Syl's beautiful version in all its glory watch here: http://vimeo.com/22799942 Syl your footage is stunning - it was an epic journey for you, I know it was a huge undertaking to even get there! In writing this piece I tipped my hat to the Inuit throat singing, and used a men's chorus to represent nature. It's scored for full orchestra: strings, brass, woodwinds & timpani, 2 accordions, 2 guitars, glockenspiel, celesta, handbells. The Inuit throat singing & chorus I multi tracked. Recorded with Logic Studio (between train stops - city life). Syl created the video first, the music was composed to match the visual edits. Great work my friend - and congratulations on capturing this rare view of these people and their land!!

Raag Darbari is one the most beautiful Raags that you will find in classical music .... This was recorded in my studio 2 years ago. Rahat Ali played the flute and did the classical alaap on this ..... He played the flute solo without any music or tempo .... the feeling and the passion that I found in this piece he played is just amazing and not only that he did the classical vocals on this as well which i think is the most difficult to sing and very few people from my country can sing it with so much passion and accuracy .... Credits : Alaap and Flutes by Rahat Ali .. Recorded using Cubase 5 and neuman TLM 103 MIC ..... Additional Arrangement on Cubase 5 using RMX and Trilogy modules ...... Music Recorded and Mixed by Athar Saeed .... i hope all of you will enjoy
