An interactive animation in which the viewer’s blinks controls the animation. Every blink causes a change in the characters of the tube, creating the impression that you have skipped forward in time. This interaction is inspired by the transient nature of London as a city where changes often happen “in the blink of an eye”. I have focused on the London Underground as this dynamic transport system where millions of strangers momentarily collide, epitomises the fleeting character of our city lives. The animation is hand-drawn with ink, which I consider to be a medium with plenty of movement, energy and unpredictability like the city itself. Experts of the full animation can be seen here https://vimeo.com/131715471

It's finally here... the day that five young(ish) gentlemen completed their trawl of the capital and thus their task to drink at a pub near every station on the Underground network. Today was High Barnet to Baker Street. Much drunkenness, quite a lot of knackeredness, but ultimately a deeply satisfying end to what has oft been a hard slog.

London is an inferno, an everyday arrangement of old and new set against a symphony of people. The cars, the trains, the machines. It is a system of magical convenience. The concern of this film and the wider Moving Cities project is the bizarre and unusually harmonious relationship dancers have with cities. To mark one year since the inception of Moving Cities, we present a sequel to the original film 'Keeping London Moving'. Yet another stab at personifying the man made metropolis through human movement. Moving Cities is a cross-cultural initiative that manifests into an ongoing collection of short films using dance to present the now of cities. The purpose since 2014 is to strengthen intercultural understanding through the arts.

Creating a narrative based, live action bid film on behalf of a global brand for presentation to a national brand is unheard of - unless your client has the foresight, belief and passion about their product and trust in Mark One Group to deliver. Virgin Media are one of these fantastic clients that believe in shaking things up. Design prototype User Interfaces for mobile phone use that reflect Virgin Media and London Underground's brand, allowing the user access to their services in an intuitive layout that also displays advertisements. Create a pitch film to demonstrate how the service would work - to be used as part of Virgin Media's WiFi bid to London Underground. Client: Virgin media

A visualisation of 562,145 journeys on the London Underground network, from a 5% sample of Oyster-card journeys during a week in 2009. The route that an individual took across the network was predicted by a custom written journey planner. Which correlated with TFLs recommendation. The journey planner and route finder were both written in Python and the visualisation was created using C++ with openFrameworks and GLSL for the position computation.
