Keith Medley makes beautiful music on his own creation; the one-of-a-kind 27-string guitar. In this new video Keith has re-arranged the classic piece "Hall Of The Mountain King" composed by Edvard Grieg for Peer Gynt in 1875. It is most recently know as an arrangement by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for the David Fincher film, "The Social Network". Produced by Jon Grimson Shot on Canon EOS 7D w/EFS 17-55mm. SmallHD DP6 SDI, and ZazaSlider. Edited in FCP, graded in Apple Color. Keith is an amazing talent as a musician, guitarist and master luthier. He designed and built his Medley 27-string guitar in order to play the music in his head. This will be in the forthcoming film, "Creative Spirit", and will follow Keith's creative process with detailed documentary of the guitar building process, 3 performance music videos conveying the sights and sounds that result, as well as an ongoing narrative and conversations with Keith. Viewers will understand how Keith's creativity manifests itself, his philosophy and his optimistic attitude to achieve these goals as he literally invents new instruments and playing techniques. Questions of what motivates his creativity, who and what inspires him, how limits and parameters must be imposed in order to reach completion, what are his most difficult challenges, are all topics that will be covered in depth. And most importantly, how does this all translate to viewers in ways that can help them learn and achieve in their lives?

My dad shot this video on our front porch with a P2HD and some good lighting while we had the equipment. Im playing the guitar I made from scratch, with a monome kit embedded in it. It was a long project... but fun. Some parts are a bit out of tune(need to do some more guitar work) and Im still figuring out the setup(running 7up live on the monome). The audios pretty crappy on this recording unfortunately as my speaker setup was a bit janky... but hey! it was fun. Ran the vid through ScreenFlow for some super quick editing and export. Im using Ableton Live for my audio bits and a Presonus Firepod to process my voice and guitar signal. We kinda just did this spur of the moment so I didnt get the audio from Ableton. I wrote this song this last spring. Credits: Benji Brown(twitter: theprojectabot) - music Ben Brown Sr - video There's Something - copyright 2009

In 2007 the Suubi Trade School was birthed in a dusty, impoverished village in Uganda, East Africa. The focus of this school was to teach young people to build world class acoustic guitars and connect these young apprentices to an overseas market. In the future these students will operate their own guitar manufacturing plant. One fine instrument at a time, these young people are defying the odds stacked against them and delivering guitars that inspire. Combining high quality materials, a passion for excellence and a proven design has ignited a fire in the hearts of our apprentices. The result? Truly affordable, handmade guitars that sound phenomenal and play easily. Shot on the 5D Mark iii with Magic Lantern RAW Artist: Drew Barefoot Song: Enjoy the Calm Licensed Through: Marmoset

Kian is a brazillian luthiery, and our work consists in translating the sound and personality of a musician in an instrument. Knowing that each instrument we create is unique, we used the concept "a sound of your own" to create a new project. To promote the art of building musical instruments, we chose the same technique used to make guitars and created our poster. "The Guitar Poster" really plays like a guitar, and was crafted using reforestation wood of the highest quality.
