We take a lot of video, and not all of it is for clients. This spring we took some footage of wildlife and other random shots, and thought we would compose them into a short video clip for your enjoyment. From geese to sandhill cranes, turkey hunting and early season scouting, our favorite time of the year is here! (Which is any time of the year that doesn't involve snow.) Haha Nature shots are taken with a Canon t2i using a Tamron 18-270mm. Not a huge fan of the lens. Might do a review on it in the future. Movement shots we done using a car. Turkey hunting and scouting shots were taken with a Canon 5D mark ii, using a 16-35mm wide lens and 70-200mm telephoto. Would highly recommend both lenses. Any movement shots were done using a "ePhoto 32" DSLR Camera Slider H3-80". Great ball bearing slider. Best one I've found for the money. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5, color graded using Magic Bullet Colorista ii Background music is called "broke my eyes" from "Donkey boy" Hoping to do reviews on all of these pieces of equipment for you in the near future. Check our my channel on Youtube as well.

On July 10th, I got to hang out and shoot some behind-the-scenes footage at the set of Jay Z's "Picasso Baby." "Backstage Baby" is the result. Intercut with scenes of the crew preparing and the audience waiting in line, you'll spot fleeting appearances by Marina Abramović, Judd Apatow, Alan Cumming, Jim Jarmusch, Taraji P. Henson, director Mark Romanek -- and, of course, Jay Z. This was a really cool project for me, because I grew up watching MTV and absorbed a lot of what Romanek, as well as David Fincher, Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham and the other great '90s video directors were up to. "Backstage Baby" was a total DIY production. I served as director, photographer, editor and composer. The Talent in the PSA was shot with the Canon C300 and Canon 24-105 F4 L at F4. I like this combo. The 24-105 is a versatile lens and as you can see I get plenty of shallow DOF and a nice sharp image. The B-roll was supplied from the organization and I believe it was a Canon 5D MKII. really beautiful footage. I wrote an article about lighting control using a Westcott Scrim Jim as a overhead butterfly and bouncing light with a Matthews bounce board. Check it out. http://eriknaso.com/westcott-scrim-jim-and-mathews-bounce-boards-perfect-combo/ Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Graded with Magic Bullet Colorista II

I created "Both Ends" for Filmmaker Magazine, in early 2012, as a test of the Canon C300. The entire short was shot in a single 16-hour marathon using entirely available light. It was all practical. This was a creative choice. I wanted to capture the day without any artificiality. A lot of the scenes are darker than what people are used to -- especially at web resolution -- however, again, that was a creative choice. The opening scene, for instance, I wanted to look like it really would if the lights were out and your pupils were wide open. The lenses were Canon 16-35mm and 24-70mm. Both are f/2.8. Which were not optimal for low light shooting. However, I wanted to use wide angle lenses -- and these were the best options I had. I used C-Log and never took the ISO above 3200 -- though that was a choice; I certainly could've gone higher and stopped down for a cleaner image, but chose not to. It was edited on Premiere Pro CS5, and graded with Colorista II. You can read more about it at Filmmaker Magazine: http://www.filmmakermagazine.com/news/2012/03/video-both-ends-and-thoughts-on-the-c300/ Created by: Jamie Stuart Starring: Lauren Currie Lewis

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
