      • OFFF 2013: Mr. Emilton's Cabinet of Curiosities

        from From Form Added 23.4K 1,061 62

You can find the making of here: https://vimeo.com/69952653 --- For the 2013 edition of the OFFF festival held in Barcelona, From Form created the main titles in collaboration with Part of Something. In this film, we'll have a peek into Mr. Emilton's cabinet of curiosities. A mysterious room filled with exotic objects and animals he collected during his journeys. All of the speaker's names are incorporated in these rarities of Mr. Emiltion's room. Throughout the film, we hear Mr. Emilton telling his life story. About how he used to draw as a child and got inspired by all the books he read. About the countries and exotic animals he discovered during his journeys. Until the moment he realizes he neglected one the most important things… We wanted to draw a resemblance between the 19th century explorers and today's creatives. In the way that explorers were literally discovering the world, creatives rediscover the world by looking at things differently and using their imagination. www.fromform.nl www.partofsomething.nl www.hecq.de CREDITS A From Form production In collaboration with Part of Something Concept, direction and screenplay Ashley Govers Jurjen Versteeg Wouter Keijzer Edit Wouter Keijzer Color correction and visual effects Jurjen Versteeg Set design Ashley Govers Music and sound design Ben Lukas Boysen Cello Performed by Cordula Grolle Recorded by Jochen Mader At Audionerve Drawings Jan-Maarten Nachtegeller Narrator Nick Smith Actor Caspari de Geus Special thanks to Héctor Ayuso and the whole OFFF team!

                from METAphrenie Added 43.7K 1,306 37

We were honored to create the opening titles for the TEDxDubai conference for the second consecutive year. The main titles showcase the staggering growth of Dubai over the past 10 years through time-lapse satellite imagery, and act as a prologue to the event that seeks to celebrate the “small” in a location like Dubai, mostly known for excess and extravagance. The titles, together with the event, remind everyone that small things can have a huge impact and that Dubai’s present grandeur was once a multitude of tiny grains of sand. Proudly conceived, designed and directed by METAphrenie in Dubai. Music by Reiner Erlings. Satellite Imagery: © Space Imaging Middle East & DigitalGlobe, members of the WorldView Global Alliance, all rights reserved.

It's 1715 and the golden age of piracy… a world where rebel pirates, collapsing shanty towns, whore houses, illegal treasure and the promise of the New World clash with the imperial forces of European civilization. Nothing less than a full-on art history mash-up of Baroque motifs, Gothic architecture and Rococo style could express this strange society, where outcasts and aristocrats alike vie for power. Using a sculptural language traditionally reserved for saints and kings, we depict a maverick society that is ultimately doomed. Beauty and death abound… as well as a skeleton or two… Inspired by: Kris Kuksi, Designed & Produced by: Imaginary Forces (IF) Directors: Michelle Dougherty, Karin Fong Art Director: Alan Williams Executive Producer: Ben Apley Lead Producer: Brian Butcher Producers: Keith Bryant, Jon Hassell Concept Illustration: Alejandro Lee, Vincent Lucido, Bernard Custodio Lead Modeler: Meats Meier Modelers: Jamin Joseph-Lackie, Margaret Dost, Odel Palmer, Aamir Karim, Justin Fields Lead Lighting & Texturing: Joseph Langmuir Camera & Previz: Kevin Ferrara CG Lighting & Texturing: Kevin Ferrara, Steven Hensley, Greg Ruane, Michael Colarik Editors: Caleb Woods, Gladys Bernadac Assistant Editor: Michael Radtke Lead Flame: Rod Basham Flame: Eric Mason Assistant Flame: Michael Radtke Coordinator: Joseph AbouSakher Production Assistants: Dominick Guglielmo, Alex Frankel, Nicole Zschiesche Design Interns: Hunter Thompson, Lisa Chen Client: STARZ Executive Producers: Jonathan Steinberg, Robert Levine, Chris Symes, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form Producer: Jonathan Brytus Post-Production Supervisor: Brennan Parks Music Composer: Bear McCreary

                      from Naissance Added 17.8K 169 33

One of the greatest films of all time is without a doubt the Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn classic, Charade. We’ve seen this movie about a million times. One of our dreams has always been to have directed the Opening Titles. So, hop in your time machines and let’s go! And if you haven’t seen the original titles, go see this excellent movie! The original titles from 1963 by Maurice Binder are amazing! People have called this film “the best Hitchcock movie that Hitchcock never directed.” In directing these titles one of the things we couldn’t stop watching was the incredible and undeniably iconic titles to Mad Men and mixing this style with “The Mating Game” by Bitter:Sweet was just too good to resist. www.naissance.tv
