Twin Cities DIY group, Studio Bricolage, built a paint pendulum for Make: Day. The paint pendulum is a three story-long cable weighted by a 10-pound bowling ball at the end. The bowling ball has 4 remote controlled paint nozzles mounted to it which allows the crowd to control the paint being flung onto a huge piece of paper under the pendulum. Did we mention they also mounted a camera to the bowling ball which broadcast a first-person perspective from the eyes of the bowling ball up three stories to a screen sitting next to where the pendulum's cable is fastened? Amazing. Check out www.studiobricolage.org for more.

With a piece of oak, some string and a cigar box, John Park creates a three-stringed guitar. The cigar box acts as the resonating soundboard for the instrument. John then wires the guitar to a buck-fifty cassette-player amp and makes it really rock.
