Yes we can . Boayan Reef Rehabilition, May 2014 . These corals "planted" a year ago were first grown from fragments in the coral nursery in situ either from "coral growing tables" or prepared steel structures which can now give an almost continuous flow of new fragments to rehab the dead reef . more on.boayan.org

Not a snorkel goes by that i am not greeted by George the Groper. If you have ever met him, you know of his inquisitive nature and impact he can have on your day to day life. Here are some of his antics shot with a GoPro 3 Black on one amazing morning during autumn, 2014. Song: Our House, Crosby Stills and Nash The Eastern Blue Groper (Achoerodus viridis) is a member of the Wrasse family and grows to approximtely 1.2m in length. Due to its inquisitive nature these fish have long been hunted by spear fisherman, resulting in a widespread decline in population numbers. Since the establishment of Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve in 1993, countless species of fish, rays, carpet shark and invertebrates have been able to use the reserve to live, feed and reproduce with minimal intrusion or risk of exploitation. Hope you enjoy! P.s. Please excuse the editing, this is my first Vimeo edit. More to come!

Diving at El Carbron marine reserve in Gran Canaria December 2013 with Davy Jones Diving is a rock entry dive, which at times can be a bit hard at times, but once in the water, it is nice and warm. About 21-22 deg C and very clear, about 20-25 meters visibility. There are plenty of marine life like, moray eels, barracudas, angel sharks, trumpet fish, goat fish, glass eye, parrot fish and much much more. It was a nice dive and friendly and helpful staff.

Took my GoPro to the Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve a few weeks ago and had a pretty amazing encounter with a couple of curious NZ Fur Seals while diving at Fruit Cake Rock. As you can see, amazing things happen to the marine life once you stop fishing and start protecting it.
