Remix by Lyndon Lorenz. From the Maven multimedia home page: NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) is the first mission devoted to understanding the Martian upper atmosphere. Today Mars is cold and dry, but ancient Mars was warm, wet, and possibly hospitable to life. Scientists think that the loss of Mars's early atmosphere caused the planet to dry up, and MAVEN will test this hypothesis by observing present-day interactions of the Martian atmosphere with the solar wind. issued under a CC3.0 sharealike license

It does so by first launching a habitation and supply module to the Martian surface then followed by the crew. The habitation module requires multiple launches using Earth orbit rendezvous to complete itself. The crew launches twenty-six months after the habitation module during the next launch window. They use a Delta Glider IV to reach the planet. In the spring of 2043, humanity finally steps foot on the Martian surface.
