MART 571D: Experimental Hand-Processed Film: Landscape & Place Objective: Shoot 100 ft. (3 minutes) of HiCon 16mm film with the Bolex camera and hand process the film in the photo lab. We could either keep the film as a negative and present it that way in class or digitize it using the projector/camera set up in the film lab and then invert it to positive in a digital editing program. We could also manipulate the physical image, digital image or both. Or just present it as is.

Cameraless Film - a project in which we had to create a film using any means except for a camera. Using a scanner, I created this film about Michael Brown.

For this project I painted, drew, glued, hole-punched, and even stapled onto clear leader film. The audio is actual audio from me personally having to reel the film through a 16 mm film viewer -- because I didn't want to ruin the projector! The loud pops are not a defect in the audio but rather parts of the film where the sprocket holes might have been covered or actually broken. I chose to leave the audio because I feel it reflects the creation process, and I want to share that.

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
