    • Q&A | Material Swap

      from rob redman / Added

Hosted by Rob Redman. This Q&A answers a question I had a few times recently, which was asking how I would approach transitioning from one texture to another. This is a simple approach but I touch upon how you might develop it to create complex transitions. More at www.pariahstudios.co.uk

Here's a short 10 minute informal tutorial in response to a question asked in the forums at C4D Cafe. One of our members posted a video with animated rings in the form of a torus and asked how to do it with Cinema 4D. The tutorial shows how to create the torus, create the material using gradients in both the Colour and Alpha channels. How to animate the rings moving then how to skew the rings to make them appear to be a long continuous helix line. If you want the scene file, head over to C4D Cafe and look for it in the tutorials section under Textures / Bodypaint. If you have any questions please ask in the forums at http://www.c4dcafe.com

pyCra PIPELINE is aimed at being a complete pipeline & framework solution for 3D projects using 3DS Max, Maya, Nuke and others. pyCra implements a software abstraction layer that allows it to work on any software running Python and PyQt. Current implementations have been made for 3DS Max and Nuke. Keep in mind that this is a research project, and that it may change a lot.
