With Sehsucht's interactive installation "Chameleon“ the audience can modulate the characters and dive into a world between reality and virtuality. With the movement of hands and body the characters are brought to life and are given their own individual look and behaviour. "Chameleon" explores another perspective of distortion and creates a unique piece of art. There are no limits to the viewer's creativity. Premiering at the Pictoplasma Conference 2014, "Chameleon“ adresses alienation and identity. It also raises the question of self-awareness and introspection in a world of post-privacy. Imagine locations that look and feel real but that could physically never exist in the real world. Sehsucht‘s Director‘s Cut „Rooms“ for MTV World Exclusive is an experimental animation that takes you to incredible places. Set scene in a cloudy hangar, we move through a stormy meteor rain. We fly backwards through a variety of different rooms. The rooms include a robot-directed spaceship, a living installation in an art gallery and a disco hallway where disco balls melt from the ceiling. Flying backwards through seven rooms, it becomes cleat that the journey is the destination: Animation can take you to incredible places. Together with the World Design Studios Buenos Aires, Sehsucht produced the opener for the MTV show ‘World Exclusive‘. The show premiers the very first broadcast of new music videos. Show package produced in partnership with MTV, for the 19th annual MTV European Music Award, broadcasted live from Frankfurt’s historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11, 2012. Created was a 20 second sequence, and opener, bumper and closer alterations from 2 to 20 seconds length, revolving around a huge Zoetrope, a fast-moving carousel which evokes the illusion of motion through a fast succession of static elements which come to life with a stroboscopic light. The animated sequence is a journey through time and space, transcending the ancient Zoetrope concept which stems from pre-Christian Chinese culture to our modern global society. A band lives the American Dream, symbolizing the ascent of a basement musician to stardom across the horizontal zoetrope layers. They move from the underground scene to stardom with the help of their fans and social networks, finally reach the top of the carousel and perform at the MTV EMA. Biking is not a picknick if you‘re sharing the road with a distracted driver. Sehsucht‘s animation shows the dangers of texting while driving. Messaging on his phone, our car driver doesn‘t pay attention to the traffic lights and oversees a pedestrian at a crossing. Distracted by the messages, he drives incautiously and runs into a young woman riding her bike. He calls an ambulance to take care of her injuries. In a parallel world in which the car driver does not text and drive he travels safely around the world. Our message is clear: Save a Life. Don‘t Text and Drive! The 3D animation is set in a very graphical, cubistic world. The style is defined through geometric shapes and a warm colour palette.
