:: winner of the California Academy of Sciences Award 'best of fest' at the Koordinaten Festival in Kiel :: :: selected and shown on the European Media Art Festival in Osnabrück, Germany 2013 :: this is the video documentary of my motion design graduation project "Kyosei (Coexistence)", a panorama installation exhibited at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule in July 2012. Kyosei broaches the issue of the catastrophic events surrounding Fukushima. I was living in Tokyo when the earthquake which caused severe damage to the nuclear reactors in Fukushima hit Japan on 11th march 2011. This disturbing experience shaped my life and caused me to create and transform my inconsistent sentiments and feelings that arose from the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster into a media panorama. http://www.storyguide.net/ HD cameras are hitting rock-bottom prices. The Flip MinoHD, the Kodak Zi6 HD and others are flooding the market. The cost of these little disposable treats has put them nearly in the category of an impulse buy at the electronics store. Once you buy one, what do you do with it?
