The Memphis Belle was the name given to a Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress that flew in World War II. It was the one of the first few aircraft that flew in the war that was able to complete 25 missions with her crew intact. There were two films made about the plane, a documentary in 1944 and a 1990 feature film. B.J. Wade does not own any of these photos but is excited for you to see them all together as Memphis is hoping to bring back the Memphis Belle for display. Enjoy!

I had an amazing opportunity to do this military tribute for a long time friend Colonel Brian Bell. He and his wife were passing through while the B-17 "Memphis Belle" by the Liberty Belle foundation was in Tulsa. This piece was shot on location at the Tulsa Air and Space museum in Tulsa Oklahoma. The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Memphis Belle" was in Tulsa for a couple of days and I ran out to shoot some pictures and video of it. I ended up staying out there about 3 hours and watched it take-off and land 4 different times. There were a bunch of people out and, of course, they all kept getting in the way doing the exact thing I was trying to do: Get an unobstructed view. Which is why I stayed for so long to get the "next" view of a take-off / landing / etc. I shot over an hour of video. Here's a little composite of the video I got. I tried to put it to a little period music - Glenn Miller. There were about 4 little boys that kept running around screaming and yelling for a while. I would pick up and move to a new location but the little twerps seemed to just want to follow me around. I don't mind the kids, but I was hoping to pick up the cool engine sounds when they would come running up screaming and making noise. I tried to pull the audio down at times to minimize it, but at the end they came up on me unexpected and started in again. I had enough so just dealt with it and kept shooting. Sorry about them intruding on the audio at the last when the plane was taxiing in. This was the last flight of the day. Sure is a cool looking airplane. June 9, 2013
