        • 4th of July Weekend 2014

          from Terrence Vaughn Added

Everyone had a spectacular time as the Parade was well attended, the Salmon BBQ was the freshest and best ever with lots of salmon and Steven Bates and Friends entertained the crowd. The Fireworks were the best yet. The weather cooperated and the boats in the bay supplemented the lulls by shooting off their own fireworks. In all we couldn't have asked for a better 4th of July Weekend.

            • "A Different Light" Story Concept

from Sean Albro Lee Added 10 0 0

An animation project I completed using After Effects in Fall 2011. "A Different Light" is the story of a girl who moves to a coastal town and meets an orphan with an uncharacteristically optimistic view on life. Together, they take on all of the challenges thrown at them-- from lighthearted preteen drama to heart-wrenching, genuinely human adversity; from school dances and sleepovers to scenic adventures, high-stakes rescue missions, and perilous street gang conflicts. The series is mostly inspired by the indie pop rock movement of the early-to-mid-2000's, with the title being lifted from a 2007 song by the band Sherwood. The song is featured in the concept video, along with the intro to The Morning Light's "Safe Bet." Sorry about the cheesy dialogue. :)

from Mendocino Theatre Company Added 783 3 0

The Mendocino Theatre Company is proud to present The Oldest Profession, a cheeky burlesque comedy by Paula Vogel, under the direction of Betty Abramson. This wonderfully theatrical and naughty comedy is sure to have delighted audiences giggling long after the play has ended. The golden girls in Madam Mae’s stable are still working. The year is 1980, just one week before the election of Ronald Reagan, and five senior practitioners of the world’s oldest profession have met at their usual bench on 72nd and Broadway. Sales are declining and the competitive economy has not been kind to the most experienced in the work force. Can Mae’s hard working girls find new tricks to survive in this changing American era? Featuring glamorous burlesque numbers and a tongue-in cheek wit, The Oldest Profession is for anyone who can appreciate a strong work ethic, entrepreneurship, pride in the American spirit, and the face of a beautiful woman. The Oldest Profession, featuring sexy choreography and bawdy jazz music, is sure to be one of the Mendocino Theatre Company’s most fun plays in years. This hilarious comedy features the Mendocino coast’s most talented and gutsy comediennes, including Janice Culliford, Maureen Martin, Lorry Lepaule, Ruby Bell Sherpa, Nancy Fereira, and Mary Ditton. The Oldest Profession plays at the Mendocino Theatre Company at 45200 Little Lake St. in Mendocino from June 5th through July 13th, 2014, Thursdays-Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. on selected Sundays. For tickets or more information, please contact the Mendocino Theatre Company Box Office at 707-937-4477, or go to mendocinotheatre.org.
