                • Meridian Hill Morning: shot w/ Canon 5D Mark II

                  from Leslie Atkins Added 137 1 0

Trying to master everything with the Canon 5dmk2 all at once (getting good sound, lighting & stable handheld shots, engaging the subject) has proven tricky. So this was an exercise in keeping the set-up simple: tripod, camera, one lens (Canon 24-70mm f2.8L) and a neutral density fader filter. The idea was simple too: record beauty shots in a park near my home in Washington, DC early one autumn morning. In terms of architecture Meridian Hill Park has a lot going on, including a huge terraced waterfall, lots of spiral stairs, pools and fountains, and two different main levels, so I knew there would be lots of interesting angles. I edited in FCP Studio with most shots slowed to 50-65% using the built-in speed adjustment, no 3rd party plug-in. I graded with Magic Bullet Looks. Music is "Sound of Wonders (Witte Trippe)" by Silent Silver. Sorry so new agey, the footage practically cut itself to this track so I couldn't resist.
