1. GLORY: God's Meta-narrative

The Meta-narrative is that Jesus is coming back and He's the groom and we're His bride and what Moses longed to see and could not, we will behold forever. There will be no sun in the new creation. There will be no moon. There will be brilliant light and that light is the unveiled, undiminished, un-compromised glory of Jesus himself and we will reflect and radiate that glory. My friends, that is what our future will look like and that is the meta-narrative, not just of our future, but of our present. When we are consumed by a passion for the greatness and splendor and majesty and name and reputation and work and honor of Jesus Christ the distractions of life become irrelevant and the glory of Christ becomes predominant and when a church is captured by that it will change everything and when our hearts are captured by that it will change everything. Never let your mini-narrative take the place of God's Meta-narrative.

One.Two.Five. is a final that was written, produced, filmed, and edited this past semester for a Creativity Productions course I took at Cornerstone University. We had two months in all for pre-producing, principal photography, and post-production. All in all I walked away from this project extremely happy with the entire process, and having it become one of my favorite class assignments that I have been able to direct yet. The process of making it stretched and taught me a lot about my own craft of writing and directing. It pushed me to new limits that i wasn't thrilled with, but I am happy that the production and crew made me do so; I am extremely better as a filmmaker and crew member because of it. The film largely concerns itself with the matter of what it means to be "fully alive" and posses the question, “what is the measure of man’s success in this life?”. Is it to love and be loved? Is it to gain wealth and position in the career or vocation that you pursue? Is it to fulfill one's aspirations? It's easy to lose sight of what we love in this world and to get caught up in the hectic work flow that is ever present in our culture and society. But if we allow our dreams to become a part of who we are, pursuing them intently and refining them so that we are excellent in our crafts, we find a fuller image of what it means to be us; what it means to be "creative" individuals.
