The NJ District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is the sponsor of the Reformation 500th Anniversary Project and is planning a series of events in preparation for one of the most important holidays in world history, October 31, 1517. Martin Luther's posting of the 95 Theses calling for church reform led to a series of discussions and events which changed the way people understood God's love for people and the unconditional love of His grace in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection and victory over death and evil. Dr. Mary Jane Haemig (Luther Seminary, St. Paul MN) spoke on the lessons of Luther studies by historians and theologians and what Luther means to us today. Dr. Erik Herrmann (Concordia Seminary, St. Louis MO) spoke on the relevance of Luther's contributions to the church and ordinary people in the 16th century and to us today in the 21st century. The date of the seminar is Nov. 11, 2014.
