Brownstone Beam (dot com) demonstrates the SHORT hand held camera positioner, offering unlimited shooting orientation and two smart servo controlled axes for cinematic quality motion control. Horizontal and vertical moving camera - all in a versatile and mobile hand held platform. Extremely stiff structure may be held in or maneuvered through any orientation during a shot. This emerging technology takes 'Point Of View' and extends the concept to 'Path Of View'.

SHORT camera positioner by Brownstone Beam (dot com) captures landmark hand held HD imagery from the icy grip of poor native lighting, overcoming absence of any autofocus ally in Canon 5D MkII HDSLR payload (which provides noteworthy dynamic range, sensitivity and clarity under such 'strenuous' lighting). The gossamer airframe in this imagery could be blown apart by a single sneeze, yet is captured safely with the hand held dexterity offered by SHORT. Evolving "Point Of View" to "Path Of View". Get your business booming with SHORT

Camera support technology developer Brownstone Beam dot com introduced the SHORT prototype hand held HD camera positioner in late Summer 2010, with selectable active servo stabilization and 2 to 20 lb payload. The system is axially balanced and extremely stiff, allowing unlimited shooting orientation and complex motion for both traditional and modern shooting styles. All of this imagery was captured with a Canon 5D MkII and Canon 24-105 mm lens. All of this imagery is Hand Held. Every frame. This prototype is a technology demonstrator for the system architecture, structural design, composite materials and smart controller components of the system. SHORT is the new standard of quality, versatility and mobility for hand held imagery. Extended reach, vertical camera, unlimited shooting orientation and hand held simplicity are all combined in this technology. Versatile. Mobile. All hand held. SHORT.

Imagery from a prototype hand held HD camera positioner, the SHORT FP3, developed by Brownstone Beam dot com. Footage from the first few sessions of operation. This footage is ALL HAND HELD, shot with the SHORT FP3 positioner supporting a Canon 5D MkII, Canon 24-105 lens, by a single operator. Payload range 2 to 20 pounds, rig-able length from a few feet to longer than you can hold. Payload capacity of this technology allows for use with HD cameras such as RED Epic, Sony's F3, DSLR products such as the Canon 5D MkII and Silicon Imaging's SI-2K cinema camera. The FP3 may be held in any position in space and moved through any orientation during a shot. This includes 360+ degrees of lateral boom angle, 360+ vertical boom angle, or 360+ roll angle, limited only by the scene space and/or the operator's grip and physique. The device basically "doesn't know what orientation its being held in, and doesn't care." Unlimited shooting orientation. Additionally, the FP3 prototype uses inertial dampers in an active servo loop to stabilize the support platform mechanically in the event of unsteady support forces or gusty wind, etc. This allows for a higher standard of baseline stability in the support, above and beyond that of traditional/historic hand held means. SHORT hand held camera positioner provides better shot diversity from a single tool, per the imagination of the operator and their ability to grip and move. Unlimited shooting Orientation, Vertical Camera, Modern and Traditional styles both native - it all adds up to better functionality, a higher tool value. Not just more shots per time, but better shots, more diversity of moves, and more possible permutations for a given shot, with mechanically smooth precision. More ammo going into post. SHORT Thank you for your interest. Mr. Harris Owner and developer Brownstone Beam dot com
