This is a virtual Studio Visit - offering a look into my artistic process and the space it occurs in. It shows the CARBON based works, and the ‘Capsules’ and ‘Rocket Brain’ inter-active sculptures. The other projects have their own pages and videos. Those include OSA EARS, ECOTONE, CODE HUMPBACK and NODES. I’ll post a dedicated ‘Rocket Brain’ video soon. Thanks very much for taking a look.

Amon Tobin wows a lively crowd at Moogfest 2011 with his visually spectacular show at the Asheville Civic Center Arena. "This is future music," one fan expressed to The Tuned Inn. We think you'll agree that this 'Best Live Act' nominated set (by the Association of Independent Music) brings a cutting-edge visual extravaganza that would fit well in a sci-fi flick. About ISAM: Live: "A truly visual onslaught - abstract narrative, subtle and bombastic - using projection mapping, generative/audio reactive real time and pre-rendered elements combined with custom software to control the show. The visual elements have been synched to ISAM to make a large scale next level HD experience. The show features a stunning 25' x 14' x 8' multi-dimensional/ shape shifting 3-D art installation surrounding Tobin and enveloping him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience. Amon conceptualized the show as a projection mapped "visual score" to the music from 'ISAM.' He performs the music as a navigator of a large craft through a surreal visual narrative.' This performance was filmed on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Asheville Civic Center on the second night of Moogfest by The Tuned Inn. • A Very Moogfest Halloween: Dan Deacon's Battle 'Til Death

What was expected to be a "normal" Dan Deacon performance (whatever that means) turned into something much more violent, much more vicious, much more...chaotic. On October 29, 2011, two veteran gladiators met in the center ring under the watchful eye of Master Deacon. One hemisphere controlled by the Stone-Cold Grey Warrior, known to slaughter all who dare oppose him with hundreds of deaths in his past. Not willing to allow the Grey Warrior's carnage to persist, the Yellow King of Peace, bearing his red flower life-source, stood before evil and guarded the other hemisphere. All who witnessed the two champions of death glaring across the ring at each other knew many once innocent lives would soon be soiled. For as Master Deacon so eloquently phrased, "the Grey Warrior doesn't give a #%@!, he's gonna kill this guy! ... What they'll have a dance battle 'til the end. A battle like no other." And so, just like the once mighty MJ did with a rubber chicken (or was that the Weird Al version?), each warrior "danced," spun, and shook until both were declared departed. This video was filmed on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Animoog Playground on the second day of Moogfest by The Tuned Inn. Tags
