1. Horsetooth Reservoir

    from David Mason Added 632 6 0

Our last day of climbing on a 3 month road trip in 2012, which had taken us from Colorado to San Francisco and back again. I had always wanted to climb Moon Arete at Horsetooth but never thought I would visit. Well as it happened I did visit and the climbs I did were all fantastic! A great little venue with good history. And yes I know I have spelt reservoir wrong in the video, oops!

We popped round to see Ben Moon and get the knowledge on his ascent of Rainshadow (9a) at Malham Cove: the fourth ascent of the route, which was established by Steve McClure in 2003, and Ben's second 9a, almost twenty-five years after his first ascent of Hubble – the world's first 9a – at Raven Tor. Pandemonium is one of the best 8a's in South Africa; good climbing on great quality rock, all situated in a lovely location. It was one that, upon first inspection, I thought looked flash-able; how wrong this turned out to be!! If at first you don't succeed: Try, try, try again!
