This is the perfect opportunity for a Carl Sagan quote: "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." The footage in this little film was captured by the hardworking men and women at NASA and The European Space Agency with the Cassini Imaging Science System. If you're interested in learning more about Cassini and the on-going Cassini Solstice Mission, check it out at NASA's website: http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/science/index.cfm Track: 2 Ghosts I, Ghosts I – IV by Nine Inch Nails (Used under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial Attribution Share Alike license.) http://ghosts.nin.com/ Self-Directed / Edit / Sound Design / Comp / Color

Music : Suns https://www.facebook.com/sunsofficial and https://twitter.com/wearesuns Another Sci Fi music video I animated : https://vimeo.com/80788696 In the Summer of 2013 Suns approached me with the idea of developing a music video for their track 'Bells' and upon listening to the track -which I loved- I immediately had thoughts of an astronaut travelling alone through space. With this initial image in mind I began experimenting with various visual effects using After Effects. I used two AE plugins: Plexus 2.0 and Trapcode Form, I started to develop my ideas which involved generating the thin line aesthetic and dots that I was after. The majority of the 3D models used in the video are based on real objects from Space; the Hubble Space Telescope, Progress and Voyager 1. The planets and moons in the video are generated using NASA imagery, and helped to create a formal aspect to an otherwise abstract piece. Once I'd settled on the visual look for the piece, I began to think about how the structure will be developed in relation to the journey of the astronaut and the emotion of the track.

A room is filled with deep, evolving noises from a four-channel sound system. An eight-by-eight array of white, self-illuminated spheres floats in space like the atoms of a complex molecule.

Through variable positioning and illumination of each atom, a dynamic display sculpture comes into being, composed of physical objects, patterns of light, and synchronous rhythmic and textural sonic events. Change, sound, and movement converge into a larger form.

The height of the helium balloons is adjusted with a computer-controlled cable, whilst the internal illumination is accomplished using dimmable super-bright LEDs, creating a pixel in a warped 8x8 spatial matrix.
The sonic events, the patterns of light, and the movement of the balloons are manipulated in real time as a 45-60 minute-long performance.

An unfinished video that I thought I'd share rather than let it just sit on my hard drive. My buddy and I made these covers and shot this video in one morning. I never got around to shooting the extra shots I wanted to and the car has since changed, but for what it is I think its a good laugh. What I like most is the tune is by a local artist, awesome. Song: Narch - Squelch This (Instrumental)
