            from Aaron Gibbons Added

Wisps of wind created with a 2D style in Cinema4D using MoSpline. 2 versions rendered. One with flat with a flat white appearance with subtle shadows to separate the layers and the other using a Toon/Cel shader. Post-editing done in After Effects using masks.

            • Live Spline Projection Using Xpresso In Cinema 4D

You may have seen other C4D tutorials on the internet showing you how to draw a spline onto a surface (two of them come to my mind: https://vimeo.com/101789808 and https://vimeo.com/112174945). Don't get me wrong, these techniques are great at what they claim to do, simply draw a spline onto a surface. But they don't give you any control over the splines shape, let alone the possibility to animate them. Last month I worked on a project that required just that. I've scratched my head long enough, tried different ways (including Thinking Particles and MoSpline) and in the end I came up with a solution that I'm exited to share with the Cinema 4D community. English is not my native language, so I decided to make a soundless video tutorial. It's the first long one, after several shorter ones, so bare with me and don't get sleepy. If you like ti, don't hesitate to click the heart icon and please do share! If you can't follow up, watch it several times. And if you have questions, ask them in the comments section. Comments are also appreciated. Scene files: http://goo.gl/Y5GNfc

              • Write On Effects With C4D #2 - Handwriting

                from ilir beqiri Added 2,037 113 1

Continuing on where I left off in the previous quick tip (https://vimeo.com/112898447), this time I show you how to use the MoSpline Generator to create a handwriting effect. I always wanted to do this in After Effects but the stroke effect is limited and doesn't let you vary the stroke's width over the length of the spline. Luckily C4D comes to the rescue. For the original project, I built a whole alphabet with hand written letters and used them to build whichever word that was needed. This quick tip is for demo purposes only, but you can split the letters in different groups and use several MoSpline Generators and animate them in different speeds. You are free to experiment and I'm open to new suggestions.

                  from ilir beqiri Added 1,048 76 3

Someone asked on Twitter how to easily build a maze and was looking for a plugin that could mask several splines together. I suggested him this technique, using only Cinema 4D native tools. Later I decided to make a quick tip video to show this in action. I discovered this last year while working on a project that required me to model a 3D logo based on several splines. Since then I have refined the technique and now it allows you not only to model, but also (with a little bit of planing ahead) animate. Hope it is useful to someone else as it was to me! PS: This video is followed by another one, using the same technique for a completely different purpose. (https://vimeo.com/112898448).

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
