        from CSIRO Added 97 0 0

It is less than 10mm long, but the aptly named ‘enigma’ moth recently discovered on Kangaroo Island in South Australia is causing quite a stir. Aenigmatinea glatzella – which has iridescent gold and purple wings – is a 'living dinosaur' that represents an entirely new family of primitive moths. This is the first time since the 1970s that a new family of primitive moths has been identified anywhere in the world. from V&A Dundee Added 303 5 0

Design in Motion, a collaboration with the Travelling Gallery, is part of our pre-opening programme. The designers featured all use digital technologies to push the boundaries of their discipline, enabling them to experiment, play and innovate. The exhibition demonstrates how design can be put to work to reconstruct our heritage, visualise the unseen, and create products not previously possible. Geoffrey Mann - Products in Motion Currently Programme Director in Glass at Edinburgh College of Art, Mann’s work has been exhibited and collected by institutions around the world including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Crafts Council of England. In 2008 he won the World Craft Council Prize for Glass and in 2009 was awarded the Jerwood Contemporary Makers Prize. Mann is fascinated by transforming the ephemeral nature of time and motion, such as the flight of a bird or the fluttering of a moth, into forms that we can see and hold using photographic and digital technologies. http://www.mrmann.co.uk/ Design in Motion was developed in partnership with the Travelling Gallery and generously supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, The Mathew Trust, Heritage Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland, The Scottish Government, and City of Edinburgh Council.
