One precious commodity reigns supreme over all others--above all that is tangible and all that is immaterial. It is more valuable than jewels, yet it is given freely. It was with God in the beginning, yet it can be with us today. We're encouraged to search for it, yet we can have it just by asking. What is worth trading the whole world to have? WISDOM...and it can be yours. Join us this summer for PROVERBS: A LIFE WITH WISDOM. GraceLife Church www.GraceLife.me

The full programme will be launched in September by the Tooth Fairies of the Oral Health Promotion Team. At first they will be working their magic in inner city schools with a view to spreading their wings across the County. • Therapy Relieves TMJ

from Lee Memorial Health System Added 11 0 0

When you think about joints breaking down, you rarely consider the joints in your jaw. “It’s a joint much like any other joint in your body that has fluid inside and cartilage, but this joint controls the opening and closing of the mouth and the side-to-side movements of the mouth,” says Kath Kinross. Kath Kinross is a physical therapist with Lee Memorial Health System. She treats people who are down in the mouth. “We often say ‘I have TMJ,’ meaning I have pain in that joint. Right here but also can often be pain in the neck and headaches,” says Kinross. It’s the temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, that becomes inflamed. Common reasons are poor posture, stress, arthritis, injury, even overuse. “From little habits that we have like biting our nails, chewing on pencils, chewing gum a lot can cause problems,” says Kinross. Allison Joslin found frequent clicking in her jaw signaled an issue with her cartilage. “I chewed gum a lot more than I probably should have, which is part of the reason that I think I’ve irritated it and I clinched my jaw when I sleep,” says Joslin. TMJ doesn’t have to be a jaw breaker. If recognized early, physical therapy may be enough. Through a series of guided exercises, patients learn to alleviate their symptoms. “If we can kind of help settle inflammation, improve posture, and help restore normal movement again, then very often that can actually help relieve the pain,” says Kinross. “Because I clench my jaw, those muscles there like to be tight. So one of them helps me relax those muscles and then the other one helps with posture,” says Joslin. Therapy is well-suited for TMJ that is not dental related. A few simple changes may help people say goodbye to an old headache. Living in NYC or in any major city around the world tourist come and they go. Most of them are fun and sometimes you become friends after a few good drinks at the bar. Shit I have have been a tourist once upon a time and when I am a stranger in someone else’s city I try my best not to get in the way of non-tourist. For years it has been this way and one day you can be walking down a sidewalk and bang. A stick out of no where smacks your face and you’re like “What was that”. You look left and you see a person holding a stick then you look right and bam there is a phone attached to it. Then after living in a city full of tourist your next thought is. “NOOOOOOOOOO. Now everyone is going to be holding these shits on every sidewalk, museum, park, and more. After a few years it was true and now thank goodness Museums, City areas, and even amusement parks are starting to put a stop to this. And we say “YES” stop it and here’s a short to help explain why.
