The cool guys at D Studio in London Bridge approached me with a nice brief - creating a short logo animation for Vyclone, a video app that allows users to record events using as many iphones as they want, then Vyclone automatically creates a multi-camera edit using their own algorithms. vyclone.com d-studio.co.uk Design, animation, sound design: F.Lazzari

      • Census

Welikesmall worked in close collaboration with DraftFCB to develop an immersive rich media environment for the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2010 Census website. Intersections were the metaphor to frame the documentary stories of real Americans in an immersive website experience. We custom fabricated a multi-camera array, similar to the device used in the movie The Matrix, allowing us to capture a frozen intersection in a single moment of time. Welikesmall handled scouting, pre-production and logistics of three intersection shoots representing urban, main street and rural America. We worked closely with the documentary team as they traveled the country and shot about 30 English and Spanish language stories. Once a site visitor selects a story in the intersection, they are taken down to a ground level view. From here they can dive deeper and watch the chosen video, or sort through other stories. The site was built with accessibility for all types of users in mind; those who enjoy exploration and those that just want to get to the stories fast.

        • LIMINAL

          from Nisa East Added 770 17 0

This year I completed my Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications with first class honors. 'Liminal' is my 4th year Grad Project. _____________________________________________________ Who is behind the camera and what happened after the cut? Try to see what exists in the spaces in-between. ‘Liminal’ seeks to explore a new mode of seeing by traversing the edges of reality using video. Lives recorded, shared and experienced on screen are subject to interpretation... If it is recorded, then it can be edited. So, is a stylized truth still a truth? The anecdotes and stories of the 8 participants are honest and frank, but in the edit you see something constructed, something completely contrary to reality. Liminal reveals the visual fault-lines that have, really, always been there. _____________________________________________________ The film was shot using a rig of 5 cameras filming simultaneously. It was an experimental process which 'tips it's hat' to the 'joiner' portraits of David Hockney. *WATCH IN HD for the FULL EXPERIENCE* Music composed by the talented Alister Roach. BIG ups to Michelle C. for being an incredible mentor throughout the project.

                  from Mike Schurr Added

Genesis Percussion Group is a competitive drum corp made up of both college and high school students from the West Michigan area. The Group was recently promoted to the Percussion Independent Open Class. On April 17th they placed 8th overall at the WGI World Championships ahead of groups from much larger markets such as San Diego, Boston and Flagstaff. Thanks to their creative shows, talented performers, hard work and dedication to perfection, Genesis has risen quickly in the ranks of competitive drum corp. Following are comments from the WGI judges. Genesis – Capture the Moment Jenison, MI 87.263, 8th Place The performers of Genesis presented a highly engaging music-meets-history lesson with their program that chronicled some of the finest moments in history – the ones that have established the legacy of humanity at large, as well as the moments that have managed to dwell in the darker end of the spectrum. The line’s careful attention to musical detail and making certain they captured the spirit of each profound moment – from the triumph and sense of pride of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon; Martin Luther King’s prolific “I Have A Dream” speech, the pitfalls of The Great Depression; and the productive bustled The Industrial Revolution. The ensemble was adept at conveying each segment not only musically, but from a communication standpoint the show definitely hit home.

Real Life Wedding Film Franche-Comte – Chateau de Clairvans Produced and directed by Laskoni Hax www.notrejour.com Wedding premium Multi-camera filmed by Laskoni Hax and the team notrejour Real Life Wedding Film Franche-Comte – Chateau de Clairvans "For today’s real life wedding film by Laskoni Hax multicamera film director, we are travelling to the lesser known area of Franche-Comté, the former ‘free county’ of Burgundy which borders Switzerland, also known as the region of 1000 lakes. Alisa and Nicolas had their religious ceremony in Saint-Hippolyte Collegiate Poligny before the main celebrations at the nineteenth century Chateau de Clairvans, the setting for the chic and relaxing wedding. At the heart of the Jura mountains, the Chateau dominates the town of Clairvans Chamblay, between Poligny, Arbois and Salins-les-Bain. The couple took a romantic tour of the courtyard of the Ursulines, where the old Ursuline Convent was founded in the buildings founded in the seventeenth century. The grooms cake was a piece monte of rum cream puffs which represented the Guadeloupe, a Caribbean island located in the Leeward Islands, in the Lesser Antilles. The reception room inside the Chateau was transformed in Guadeloupéenne oasis with real palms and other tropical plants, exotic scents a menu blending flavors between the Jura and the Caribbean. Guests danced the night away to tropical music on the multi-coloured dance floor."
