”NORTHERN MEETINGS” Nolia-Piteå. The mural painting "Northern Meetings" is a commissioned work for Nolia/Piteå. Sweden for their workshop and conference facilities. The theme was "meetings" so I created, based on the rounded wall, the geographic location and the theme, an organic painting of two characters where Hand and Eye contact are in focus. Which is what meetings are about. The picture's lines and shades of green, grey and blue refer to Piteå's northern landscape and it's archipelago. Painted lines that could be, at first sight a map or roads and paths as well as life lines evolving, growing, tagging along parallel and crossing each other, or not at some point. >> April 2015. This short documentary by Prescott College student, Kaitlan Troy, follows the Public Art and Mural class. This month-long intensive block class was a cross-collaboration between the Natural History Institute (NHI) of Prescott College and Prescott College art students. The class, under the guidance of the NHI, created a mural featuring Native Arizona plant and insect species on the wall of the institute. Professor, Julie Comnick and students discuss their experiences, from the development of the concept, to the consensus processes to the painting and production. Just an ordinary class at Prescott College!

In the summer of 2014, I mentored a team of youth from Scarborough to create Toronto's Eastern Gateway Mural. This time-lapse shows the process behind the mural's creation, some five weeks of painting pared down to two minutes. The design, celebrating the flora and fauna of Highland Creek's park, was influenced by participants who came for free art lessons and mural-brainstorming at a nearby library earlier that spring. This project was organized by Mural Routes and funded by the City of Toronto Cultural Hotspot program, Toronto Arts Council and Ontario Arts Council.
