I was biking over the summer and found a massive fruiting of O. Illudens, went back over the next two nights to try to do long exposure photography of it's bioluminescence. There was a full moon and I wasn't able to capture it's dim glow, but I managed to get some video of them sporulating like rabbits... Video was shot with an Olympus E-PL2, light was provided by a two Black Diamond headlamps, video taken in central NJ.

The Telluride Mushroom Festival celebrates all things mycological, from the newest advancements in mushroom science to our famous mushroom cook-off. Annually held in Telluride, Colorado, the Festival Capital of the Rockies, the TMF is a can't miss event in one of the most beautiful locations on earth. Fungi serve many purposes--from breaking down plant cellulose in nature to creating nutrients for plants, to serving as food and medicine for people, to acting as bio-remediators to filter and break down toxic land from oil spills and agricultural run off. However, many are unaware of how versatile mushrooms are outside of the kitchen. 2014's theme was "Mushroom Science." Activities included guided mushroom forays, led by world-renowned mycologists such as Gary Lincoff and Lawrence Millman, a DNA lab provided by John Holliday of Aloha Medicinals, and the mushroom parade led by Shroompa Art Goodtimes. The 33rd edition of the festival was one of the biggest and best festivals to date. You can find more information about next year's festival at www.telluridemushroomfest.org
