A sound artist is haunted by the echoes of her recordings. A mix of live action and stop motion animation, 1/4" is at once unnerving and darkly comic. Nominated for "Best Animation" at the Maverick Movie Awards 2011. Official Selection of Action on Film Festival 2011 and London Short Film Festival 2012.

SHOT ON 16mm FILM: This short film was created completely with analog technology (well, up until the film and soundtrack were digitally scanned off the final print). It was shot on 16mm black and white film with a Canon Scoopic camera. TLR was completely, 100%, edited on a Steenbeck. The 5 minute short took about 80 hours to edit. It was a great experience. SOUND: All the sound went into a Nagra tape recorder. The Nagra was once the standard film sound recording device (it was even used on Jurassic Park). There's only one track of sound. It was mixed analog on some old school equipment.

COPYRIGHT 2000 WAREHOUSE 9 PRODUCTIONS, LTD. All Rights Reserved http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3782883/ A FORTUNE IN DIAMONDS... ONE MAN HAS THEM... EVERYONE WANTS THEM... THEY'RE ALL... "HUNTING FOR FISH" In the independent spirit of "Clerks" and "El Mariachi," comes the action comedy "HUNTING FOR FISH," a modern day "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly," a contemporary "It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." A fortune in diamonds has been stolen, one man has them and everyone wants them. They’re all HUNTING FOR FISH. An ex-insurance fraud investigator turned thief, and her partner, a cocky black market dealer, are hired by a corrupt diamond jeweler to steal a fortune in diamonds from his own store in order to collect a hefty insurance claim. Before the job takes place the diamond jeweler enlists Wilson Fish, an elusive thief and con man, to help with the heist. What they don’t know is that the conniving Wilson Fish has a plan of his own— to betray everyone and take the diamonds for himself. Armed with a 16mm Arriflex BL, a Nagra III with a Sennheiser 416 boom microphone, a few tungsten practical light bulbs and two four foot shiny boards powered by the magnificent Colorado sun (over 300 days of sunshine a year), Lance Lucero began production on the ambitious micro-budgeted film HUNTING FOR FISH. The risks were high and the odds were against all who were involved, but the movie Gods chose to smile on the production and the film was completed. The negative is in perfect order and the analog 1/4 inch sound is vibrant. This film is old school! Just like all the films that inspired most filmmakers of today. Made in the tradition of the filmmakers we all idolize, such as, John Huston, Sergio Leone, Frances Ford Coppola, George Lucas, etc. The cinematic pallet is painted by saturation and grain structure. HUNTING FOR FISH is quickly becoming the last of it's kind. Written, Produced, Directed and Edited by Lance R. Lucero COMING SOON... 1 minute 33 seconds. FILM. Color.
