Portland Railway 14th September 2013, lovely short narrow gauge railway. Just like here in the UK the museum and railway is staffed by enthusiasts. The railway has fabulous views over Casco bay, which after riding out on the train we chose to get off and walk back to the museum in the port area. We were made to feel very welcome.both at the railway and in Portland, Maine. http://www.mainenarrowgauge.org/

        • Foggy Morning at WW&F

It’s just after sunup at the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington in Maine. The crew is dressed in period clothing and using tools from the 1930s when the original railroad was last in business. This is one of the more peaceful scenes from our day-long photo charter. My 23 minute video story of the photo special is a bonus chapter on the “Pennsylvania Steam Stories” DVD. Visit http://www.yardgoatimages.com for more information and additional previews. The WW&F is a fantastic little railroad that is worth the trip to rural Maine. I was impressed by their ongoing efforts to extend the track a little farther each year through volunteer efforts. Thanks, Steve Mitchell - http://www.yardgoatimages.com

          • Huckleberry Railroad

The Huckleberry Railroad operates on a route that was once part of the Pere Marquette Railroad. Number 464 was built in 1903 by Baldwin for the Denver & Rio Grande. The engine spent most of its career on the Rio Grande and Rio Grande Southern. It was restored to operation in 1989. Huckleberry also has a nice collection of historic freight and passenger cars. The trip lasts about 35 minutes and operates on a unique dog bone shaped line with turning loops on each end. The railroad is located in Flint, MI and operated by Genese County Parks. The site also includes Crossroads Village, which includes re-creations of small town and rural life in the 1800’s, including a steam powered saw mill. This is worth seeing, and has much to offer non railfans as well. Our visit to Huckleberry is a chapter on the DVD “Midwest Steam 2009 - Part 1” from Yard Goat Images - http://yardgoatimages.com/store-2#ecwid:category=360233&mode=product&product=1215243 Thanks for watching! Second upload. I deleted the first. This is a fraction of a video I'm working on from the DSNGRR in Durango. Ilove this crossing because it's in a huge valley where the echos of the horn bounce around for seconds.
