Exhibition of Serb painting and sculpture in Bosnia and Herzegovina from period 1896-1955. Exhibition was opened in National Art Gallery in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was following opening ceremony, made shots of same paintings, and of my friend who in charge of restoration of various kind of arts and works for National Art Gallery. Shooting was very challenging due to poor, almost impossible light conditions (they are mixing 50 Hz halogen light, 60 Hz neon light, and some spotlights). Finding appropriate shutter speed was mission impossible, and flickering would appear as soon as I would pan my camera towards a sport illuminated by the kind light different to one I set my shutter speed in the first place. This is just an exercise before more major project of similar type I am preparing. Shot using Lumix GH3 with Olympus M. Zuiko 45mm f1.8 Music was randomly picked to complement video vignettes ...

SYNOPSIS This piece is a 2 minute 'artists rant' contribution to the 'Crash Course' exhibition, curated by Steve Middleton and Rebecca Young for the 'Next Wave Festival', which was partially held at National Gallery c.1992. Each artist got to use there own artistic examples as background images. I chose to use slide projected images onto my face that were (as was BG imagery) created using Amiga's Dpaint. The interview was conducted at the RMITV Studio. There were many many other looping talking video heads on TV screens aligned in a circular fashion, with each artist talking shop.

        from filmjunge / Added

The Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery) can be traced back to a sketch by Wilhelm IV. from the year 1841, and the design by Friedrich August Stüler who envisaged a temple-like building raised on a plinth, with a monumental exterior staircase and magnificent stairway inside. In 1866, building work began, and when Stüler died the same year Johann Heinrich Strack took over the site management. The National Gallery was opened on 21st March 1876. Handcrafted by filmjunge. Finest stillness and motion pictures. Secured with Canon 7D. Mastered in 4K.

By exploring movement and location, 'Weaving Nests. Tracing the Invisible' takes the form of maps and patterns that let unexpected narratives emerge. An exquisite study by Barocci for one of his major altarpieces, bought by the Fitzwilliam Museum with help from the Art Fund, was a key piece in the National Gallery's 2013 exhibition Brilliance and Grace. The show's curator, Carol Plazzotta, takes us through the artist's working and reworking of the composition for his monumental altarpiece The Institution of the Eucharist, and the surviving study that gives us an unrivalled window into the day-to-day practice of an Old Master.

When you’re one of the top 5 organizations in your market, it’s tempting to think that you’d have plenty of resources to hand for engaging your customers. But when you’re a not-for-profit organization like the National Gallery, you need to make every penny and every available minute count. To do so, the gallery is increasing its use of behavioral marketing to automate how it engages with its customers on a more individual level. Currently, this is based on people’s preferences, pre-booking and purchase history (if you like Leonardo, chances are you’ll like Raphael). Increasingly, they are looking to track customer behavior to deliver more relevant, more engaging content across devices and media. Watch our interview with the National Gallery’s Marketing Officer, Annie Duffield to find out how an institution dedicated to preserving the past is resolutely stepping into the future.
