Continuing from the previous 9 month block of travel, this 12 and half minute long movie shows highlights of traveling between May 2014 and January 2015. Approximately every other month between this time period, I was at work flying around the USA. This, of course, is only a snapshot of my story for the past 9 months, and I am pleased to share it. Moreover, I am grateful for the people who have shared their story with me. This is for you my friends: Adventure On.

You begin the day with homemade pumpkin seed, walnut and blueberry muesli bars, then head out to cycle with new friends on quiet country roads, breezes cooling you under the warm, bright sun. The colors of the canyons change, like an all encompassing kaleidoscope, as you ride on. The support van meets you for lunch where you dine on a pork loin sandwich, chilled mango soup, and blue cheese cole slaw, and drink freshly squeezed lemonade. The view from where you eat is breathtaking, and you wonder how you went so long without interacting with nature this intimately. After lunch, your group hikes through a valley of otherworldly stone goblins where it looks as if Mars and Mother Nature collide. Returning to camp—camera full and your hunger roused—a staff member greets you with a glass of sangria made precisely how you want it. The awe-inspiring scenery is a perfect backdrop for your beautiful tent, which is perfectly outfitted with all of the little luxuries of home. As the sun fades, Chef and his staff serve up duck confit chile rellenos with savory blueberry sauce, a dish as gorgeous as it is delicious. After indulging in a lime-vanilla crème brûlée you head to the campfire for live music and group recounting of the day’s events. As you retire to your tent and sit on the couch you realize that your eyes may feel heavy but the contentment you feel is invigorating. You turn off the light, sink into the mattress and think: who knew camping could be so comfortable? Savoring for one more moment the new memories and friends you made today, the fresh air and sweet sounds of nature lull you to sleep.

Coyote was my spirit animal and friend as I traveled through various national parks this winter. I seemed to encounter them on a regular basis. This particular moment was captured just after my arrival to Death Valley, I had gone a few days without seeing a single coyote anywhere, and I was beginning to worry that I would never see any in this particular park. A ranger told me I'd have better luck if I go out just before sunrise, and this is what I saw...Two coyotes and two ravens crossing paths. I was also able to take a few photographs of them, including the coyote "face bump" moment. I try and transport back to these moments as much as I can. There is a beautiful supernatural world that surrounds us, and it's always available for us to seek and find. I hope you enjoy... -KJ
