Virtual gravity is an interface between the digital and the analog world. With the aid of analog carriers, virtual terms can be taken up and transported from a loading screen to an analog scale. The importance and popularity of these terms (data base: google insights for search), outputted as a virtual weight, can be weighed physically and be compared. Therefore impalpable, digital data get an actual physical existence and become a sensually tangible experience. MODULAR AESTHETICS’ artworks are inspired by the idea that every surrounding things around us such as living organisms and botanics come from a “primary form”, composed of minute innumerable “modular” units. The group’s experimental approach in this exhibition is to draw from each member a different media art practice to form one whole interactive scenario. In “Can’t Conjecture”, MODULAR AESTHETICS sees no boundaries between media and material types. The beauty of selected objects are expressed and blended through experimental art forms: imagery projections, sounds, and time-based processes between space, human, and time. The exhibition focuses on the experimentation of visual elements and sound (audio). Through technical processes, the group will search for beauty in diverse array of exotic and familiar things, without adhering to any format, space, or art traditions. Throughout a 1 week period, the artist group will perform their interactive, time-based art within the setting of the gallery space. The audience is invited to interact with the installed pieces, thus taking part in the “live” shaping of the outcome of this art project.
