1. Meet Me in the City

A piece influenced by a Junior Kimbrough song, "Meet Me in the City". It is meant to not be a traditional story arc. Instead, my goal was to give what could be a linear story, but at what point in the story is unknown. Better yet, is this the whole story? The viewer is left to draw their own conclusion as the video plays out. The use of the lyrics from the song as the narration, in addition to the music in the same key as the song, add depth to what what would otherwise be a dry video.

Excerpts from FareWell - The End of the World As We Know It OR Dancing Your Way to Paradise! Maida Withers - Dancer and Choreographer Steve Hilmy - Electronic Composer and Musician Ayo Okunseinde - New Media Artist Fare Well is as extreme in its moods and absurdities as we might think of "extreme weather." We watch hypnotized, immobilized, arrogant, innocent, and powerful as fires rage, volcanoes and oil erupts, the Arctic melts, Earth becomes parched, and seas rise.

Live cinema artists Potter-Belmar Labs remix, re-edit, and reconsider the controversial 1967 Swedish films, Vilgot Sjöman's I Am Curious (Yellow) and I Am Curious (Blue), through a live cinema performance the duo debuted at the Heights Theater in Houston in September 2010. The same theater was gutted by fire in 1969 by arsonists protesting I Am Curious (Yellow)'s alleged obscenity. PBL's performance expands on the films' kaleidoscopic, multilayered nature, exploring the films' themes of sexuality and politics as well as the context of the broader censorship movement of the age and the phenomenon of reactionary violence in our own time. Mature content warning. Commissioned for and premiered during Aurora Picture Show's Media Archeology festival, September 2010.

From its concave and convex surfaces to the orientation of its structure, entire artwork is formed by the daily and yearly cycles of the Sun in the particular location of Denver Botanic Gardens. Much like the shifting colors of the seasons, artwork also changes its appearance by reflecting and refracting sunrays, and observation angle of its audience.
