Slideshow. Hauganfoto goes night photography. Tusen takk for uvurderlig god hjelp Øyvind!

Haven't you ever looked and gazed at the night sky. Wondering what's out there in the heavens. Often when that is done...we start thinking of people we've known and places we've been too. It is as if we're seeing their reflection written somewhere, somehow in the stars. At one time...long years ago...the Spirit of the Lord told Abraham that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars (see Genesis 22:17). An example of how reflecting in the stars can serve as a reminder of who we are as a people....as well as promises that each of us individually have regarding our hopes and dreams. In Cynthia's Twilight guitarist Rob Hinkforth gives a moving composition that instrumentally speaks to reflecting on the night skies; being reminded of people and places that have touched and changed us. At least this is the inspiration that went behind the present composition. Cynthia Diana was a dear friend of Rob Hinkforth: the two were like the best of friends during their teenage years. When Rob Hinkforth initially created this instrumental theme...it was in the summer of 1992. When Rob had been serving at a non denominational church camp, in the north woods of Wisconsin. One late July night with clear skies highlighted by the continuous counters of trees and the summer sounds of crickets, birds, and the wind: Rob was seated in front of a camp fire. With an acoustic guitar on hand. A small camp fire sing along had ended, with Rob and a few other campers still enjoying the moment. Though the air was damped, it was also refreshing and crisp. Looking at the stars and thinking of his friend Cynthia...in that moment of July 1992...Rob created the musical score of what would eventually develop into Cynthia's Twilight (as presented in this music video). Composed and Performed by Rob Hinkforth Recorded & Mixed in September 1993, at Eagle Sound Recording in Durango, CO USA: featured on the 1993 Rob Hinkforth album Compassion Project Doug Eagle was the studio tech for Eagle Sound Copyright 1993 RSH MUSIC ASCAP Copyright Renewal 2012 RSH MUSIC ASCAP Video was created and edited in Jan., 2012.

Aurora Australis, you have to watch this full screen and in HD the volume of sky traffic is amazing.... the beauty of a f1.4 lens and 8 sec exposures, more ray/beam action from the aurora than was visible in longer exposures

This video is the second in a series of 2 testing the high ISO capabilities of the Canon 6d and Canon 70d cameras during a new moon. I also tried to produce a time-lapse of the setting sun over two evenings in this video where I manually controlled the light by changing the ISO settings as the sun set. Unfortunately it did not work very well as the decreasing electron well size caused the apparent sun diameter to increase with each increase in ISO. I should have known this would happen, but this is why you experiment and it confirmed that aperture priority or manual exposure changes are the best methods to film the setting sun. This video was only intended as a test to optimize the iso settings for each camera-lens combination; however, despite being just a test I think it turned out fairly well. This video is also best views in HD.
