"Julian Assange should be congratulated for carrying out the responsibilities of a citizen in democratic societies, where the population should be aware of what their selected representatives are doing and planning. The Wikileaks revelations have surely advanced such awareness and understanding, and are a valuable contribution for that reason". Noam CHOMSKY December 2011

Talk given to the Radical Anthropology Group at The Function Room, The Cock Tavern, 23 Phoenix Road, London NW1 1HB on 3 February 2015. Chris Knight is the founder of the Radical Anthropology Group and is also a co-founder of EVOLANG, since 1996 the main international conference series on the evolutionary emergence of language. His most recent book (co-edited with Dan Dor and Jerome Lewis, Oxford University Press) is entitled The Social Origins of Language. Chris Knight discredits Chomsky's theoretical model of language and especially his implausible attempts to account for its origin. He likens Chomsky to God in the Babel story: autocrat, abstract and out to confound us all. See also The Evolutionary Emergence Of Language, 20 January 2015 in this series. http://www.chrisknight.co.uk/ http://www.radicalanthropologygroup.org/ http://functionroom.co/
