      • North Bend and Snoqualmie in the winter afternoon light

        from Steve Crawford Added 565 2 6

This short video was taken in North Bend and Snoqualmie, Washington. It showcases Mount Si, Snoqualmie Falls, the Salish Lodge, the Northern Pacific Depot, and the Snoqualmie River. All in the late afternoon light, on a rare sunny winter day here in the Pacfic Northwest. The video was shot with a Canon HV20 camcorder, using a WD-H43 0.7x Wide Angle Converter lens. Most footage was shot in Tv mode (60i) with manually set exposure. I used a Trekpod Go in either monopod or tripod mode for extra stability. Rendering was done in Sony Vegas Platinum 8.0. Contrast, Brightness, and Saturation were altered as needed per shot, and a minor wide area unsharp mask was added to the output, to boost clarity. Note that I am a photographer normally, and relatively new to videography. As such, this video is shot pretty much in the same style as my photography, as kind of a moving slideshow. Note that this is my first camcorder, and my first video shot with it. This is also my first time using Sony Vegas, although I have used Windows Movie Maker in the past to make photo slideshows, and Sony Vegas has been a relatively easy transition so far. Comments Welcome. Be Gentle.

I put together some old video at the last minute for an amateur video challenge in North Bend. I found out about it last minute, so not much thought went into it. I hope to improve on this this year. haha. That shouldn't be too difficult.
