The NC Museum of Art in Raleigh has a Museum Park that sits on 160 acres with trails, bike & walking paths and they are always changing or adding something to the experience. It was a hot and humid day and I wanted to put something together to show how well the Park blends art and nature. www.DJRaleighDurham.com Panasonic GH2 Olympus 15-35mm f2 Olympus 35-100mm f2 Edited in FCP X Slight grading in FCP X "Goodbye My Love" from the 300 movie soundtrack

Opening weekend shot from the African Gallery at the North Carolina Museum of Art, in Raleigh North Carolina. Shot with Panasonic Lumix LX3. According to museum docent Christine Sadel: "The Egungun costume is used yearly in villages to honor their dead relatives, so they can see out through a woven pane in the front and this one has shells covering the face. Each year the family adds fabric layers and when the person inside wears the costume, he spins around making the fabric fly out. The one on display is one of three that the museum owns and since they are fabric they rotate them to make them last longer."
