Sarah Ridgway is a Welsh international runner specialising in mountainous terrain. Her love of gnarly conditions helped her secure the woman’s record for the classic Snowdon Horseshoe in a time of 1hr 43min. 'The key is to just do what you are passionate about and do it for the simple joy it brings you – if other rewards come out of it then accept them graciously but don’t let them be your driver – just let your true passions guide you and the rest will come. Infact after the horseshoe I felt so inspired and reinvigorated I raced quite a bit and had some of my best ever performances!' - Sarah Ridgway Sarah works as a guide in her business Run Snowdonia (www.runsnowdonia.co.uk), one of the premier guided running services in the UK. The business involves anything from taking people for scenic guided runs, a hard training session or instructing people on how to run safely in the mountains. Since producing this piece, a number of the sequences have appeared in S4C's series Mynydd and ITV's series Wilderness Walks with Ray Mears. The original footage is in excess of 4K (in excess of 5K in fact). My timing was terrible. Back in September 2012 I started a project to produce a short time lapse compilation. As a photographer with a passion for landscape, and living in the Snowdonia National Park, it made perfect sense to base the first project on my own back yard, here in north Wales. I thought it would take a few months, but I didn't bank on the weather being so dull for so long, the odd clear day here and there punching a hole in the endless, drab, grey clouds that seem to have plagued the weather this winter. Over time, those holes in the weather added up and I managed to get all of the shots I originally set out to do, added to some I had done earlier in the year. I concentrated my efforts on a few key areas, mainly around Snowdon itself and the surrounding mountains, and then a few sequences from the west coast near to Harlech, where I grew up. Admittedly, this is only a small fraction of the stunning scenery to see in the Park, but I fully intend to continue shooting both here and further afield over the coming months and years. If you spot the Caterpillar, well done! If you can tell me what species of British moth it is, I would be very impressed (I do know by the way, and there are no prizes sorry). Kit used Canon 7D Dynamic Perception Stage One Motorised Slider for motion time lapse sequences If you have any questions or you would like to discuss possible commissioned work, please contact me direct at anthony@iamzed.co.uk, or through my website www.iamzed.co.uk.

The Welsh countryside can be a vast untouched wildness of roaming forest and distant mountains, or it can be the complete opposite, a thriving and overcrowded environment filled with bustling businessmen and pencil pushers. Blaenau Ffestiniog once was one of the latter, a slate industry driven town where mining and quarrying were its biggest investments. Over the years the thriving industrial town has seen its self drying up of all it resources and slowly started to decay. Dont get me wrong, business in the quarries is still booming and the slate that comes from this area is still some of the best in the world but the mine tours and corner shops selling sticks of rock dont bring the crowds like they used to. In the interest of driving the tourism back into Blaenau, the locals turned to bikes, one local in particular, Adrian 'Bud' Bradley took it on him self to to open the darndest, most rootenest tootenest attraction for miles. Antur Stiniog was born and boy did the flocks of bikers come. Antur gained the attention of the enduro team from Continental and couldn't help but feel it was a great place to capture the essence of what this place is, the views, the scenes, the copious amounts of slate and most of all the riding. Great trails and an all round joyful day had with the 2 of 3 from Team Continental. Rob Scullion and Mike Inman looking quick and on form for this year of gravity based enduros here in the UK, crazy how they manage to find time to train around their full time jobs.
