Team CRC/Nukeproof riders Matt Simmonds, Joe Smith and Matti Lehikoinen made their annual pilgrimage to Malaga, Spain, earlier this month to hone their skills on the dry, dusty trails in preparation for this year’s downhill race season. Featuring interviews with the riders, including Matti’s first appearance since his massive crash at the end of last season, this edit should whet your appetite for the first race of the 2012 season this weekend in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Thanks to Francisco Martinez, Danigonz and Salvador Moreno (thebikeshuttle.com) for the great edit.

Makes You Stronger takes us behind the scenes of Team CRC/Nukeproof at the final round of the UCI MTB World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy. A season of injuries, perseverance and hard work pay off for Matt Simmonds (16th place) and Matti Lehikoinen (8th) as they show what they’re capable of when fit and in tune with the bike. Joe Smith takes a solid 22nd but knows there’s room for improvement, meanwhile Lewis Buchanan sits the race out, saving himself for the 2011 World Championships in Champery.
