The work "Slipping the flesh and bone of this mortal coil" is composed of a large scale drawing which can be viewed from both sides of the installation as well as close to 3000 images of people who died in the DFW area in 2013 suspended over the work. As the mortuary tags flutter they create patterns of light on the drawing below. The writings of Schrodinger and Schopenhauer are good primers to begin to consider this works underlying interpretations.

Every year in Poland at the beginning of november starts the festival of the dead. In cotrast to other countries like USA, the festival od the dead in Poland is full of reflection, pray nad contemplation about the death. During that time millions of Poles drive their cars, sometimes far away from home, to visit the graves of their close ones. That’s why every year Police organizes an action called „Snitch”. It is based on the increased traffic police patrols, checking soberty of drivers and traffic management. Police representatives also call through national media for driving safely. The problem is that the drivers are deaf to the police appeals. As a result, during the festival comes more than 2000 car accidents, caused mostly by speeding. What the Police needed was to generate a big social debate about causes of car accidents. But how can we call a social debate during the time of the festive and appeal to the drivers conscience? We used a symbol that the festival of the dead takes on greater significance, than usual: a dead notice. Through an obituary service in the fields dedicated for first and last name of the dead person, we have written our statement. Though printed in only one issue of the local newspaper it triggered a discussion about road safety on TV news, radio stations and major web portals. The picture of dead notice appeared on the biggest news and automotive sites. It also showed on the first page of polish reedit, called wykop.pl and demotywatory.pl. After 24 hours the dead notice reached more than half a million facebook users, generated 12 thousand online debates about speeding and went straight back to the press... as an article in the national newspaper, appealing to follow the speed limits on road. The value of gained media in total hovered around 300 000 zlotys. And all of that thanks to just one dead notice... printed for 300 zlotys.

In 2012, Banger Films launched an IndieGoGo campaign to fund the creation of Extreme Metal, the final "Lost Episode" of Metal Evolution - the biggest-ever series on the history of heavy metal and hard rock. Through the overwhelming support of the international metal community, Banger raised nearly $40,000 which funded the research, writing, travel and filming phase of the Extreme Metal episode, making it possible for host/director Sam Dunn and the Banger Crew to hit the road and interview the genre's most influential figures, including Tom G. Warrior and Martin Eric Ain (Hellhammer/Celtic Frost), Shane Embury (Napalm Death), Jeff Walker and Bill Steer (Carcass), David Vincent (Morbid Angel), John Tardy (Obituary), Fenriz (Darkthrone), Necrobutcher (Mayhem), Ihsahn (Emperor), Silenoz (Dimmu Borgir), Joe Duplantier (Gojira) and more. The funding also enabled us to film some of the most important locations in the history of Extreme Metal including Tampa (the birthplace of Death Metal), Oslo (home of the Norwegian Black Metal scene), Birmingham, England (famous Grindcore hub), and Hellfest (one of the world's biggest metal festivals). But interviews and travel footage sitting on hard drives is no good to anyone. We need your support to turn this footage into an episode! More info here: http://igg.me/at/LostEpisode/

A photo slide show that I created in tribute to my dad, Jeff Zimmerman to display at his memorial service. From his obituary: "Jeffrey Lee Zimmerman, 56, of Grass Valley, Calif., died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at his home of a massive heart attack. He was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of James and Marjorie (Lokke) Zimmerman. Jeff graduated from Owatonna High School with the Class of 1975. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management from Mankato State University. He married Sue Henry in 1977 and they were later divorced. He was a construction manager for various companies including S.J. Groves and Company, Kahler Corporation and Met Con. Jeff was a very mechanical guy who could fix anything. He enjoyed home improvement projects, biking, hiking and collecting record albums. Jeff was mellow and well liked by his family and friends. He was a gentle, easy going and fun-loving guy who liked to listen to music. The most important thing in Jeff's life was being "daddy." He would happily take his daughters on ten hour marathon shopping trips and made sure to send each of them off to college with a fully-equipped toolbox. He is survived by his daughters, Heidi (and Chris) Keefer of Grass Valley, Calif., Hayley Zimmerman of Santa Cruz, Calif.; mother, Marjorie Zimmerman of Owatonna; sister, Jane Zimmerman of Sauk Rapids; brother, David Lantz of New York, N.Y.; grandmother, Alice Madsen of Mapleton; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James Zimmerman."
