On 22 October 2011, Occupy SF marched to the Hall of Justice. Although they'd been previously mistreated by the police, Occupy showed that they are not going to meet violence with violence. And they reminded the police that they are the 99% too.

On 16 November 2011, Occupy SF and marchers from Occupy Cal, Occupy Oakland, Occupy Santa Cruz and Occupy Davis occupied a Bank of America in downtown San Francisco. As this was going on, I interviewed a woman who told me she was occupying because her mother's home was being foreclosed on. San Francisco police arrived and arrested the occupiers, but the BofA was shut down for then entire afternoon. I also took photos of this event and they are here: http://goo.gl/hQxtU

David Colagiovanni 2011 A short hand drawn rotoscoped animation depicting Veterans for Peace member Scott Olsen after he was wounded by a non/less-lethal round by riot police on October 25, 2011 at 14th Street and Broadway in Downtown Oakland. The original video comes from Ali Winston a reporter for KALW 91.7 FM. You can see the original video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMUgPTCgwcQ Reports following the incident say that google was asked to take down clips like the original by the Oakland Police department. As I'm sure you know Citizen Journalism is the only way to actually stay informed as to what's happening on the ground at various Occupy Wall Street Protests around the country. I've been following reports from people via twitter since the beginning of the occupation in New York. When the Oakland Police riots occurred I couldn't do anything else except follow every tweet and read every article. I've had trouble getting any work done this past month as it has been taking up most of my time. Last week I started this animation as a way to simultaneously be more involved in the conversation and to busy myself with the endless task of drawing. The animation above consists of 366 drawings made with water soluble pencil and water over the course of five days.

An economist says 'more for you is less for me.' But the lover knows that more of you is more for me too. If you love somebody their happiness is your happiness. Their pain is your pain. Your sense of self expands to include other beings. This shift of consciousness is universal in everybody, 99% and 1%." CHARLES EISENSTEIN is a teacher, speaker, and writer focusing on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution.
