1. Howard Hall on CO2-Vimeo Compression

    from Rick Morris Added 72 0 0

I was fortunate enough to interview my friend Howard Hall several years ago for my film, Infinite Oceans. Each subject was given a forum to discuss an ocean issue that they felt passionate about and for Howard that was CO2 build up and ocean acidification. Could that have been more profetic? I felt this would be a perfect time to excerpt that part of his interview since CO2 emissions have now reached historically high levels never before recorded... Have we reached the tipping point???? In my opinion, yes, since humans can't seem to make the necessary sacrifices to stop this tragedy or even slow it down.......

This video is based upon the book, "Beneath Cold Seas", winner of the 2012 National Outdoor Book Award for Art and Design. It required 15 years and more than 600 dives to make the photographs in British Columbia waters averaging 45-50 degrees F (7-10C) and with visibility averaging 20-30 feet. I hope that you enjoy the photography, the original music by Matt Mayer, and the spectacular marine life of the Pacific Northwest.
