This is the official documentation video of NODE10 - Forum for Digital Arts, November 2010, Frankfurt, Germany http://node.vvvv.org The purpose of NODE is to facilitate the exchange between art, design and engineering in interactive and generative media. The 'NODE - Forum for Digital Arts' emerged in 2008 from an initiative of developers and users of the graphical programming language vvvv (http://vvvv.org). At first, NODE was meant to support the community of people using vvvv to create artistic and creative software projects, but it quickly changed into an international forum for knowledge exchange between designers, artists and engineers of various fields believing in the powers of programming and digital technologies. The second edition was held in November 2010 in cooperation with the Frankfurter Kunstverein (www.fkv.de). Through the exhibition and lecture panel 'abstrakt Abstrakt - the systematized world' (curated by Marius Watz & Eno Henze) we seeked to analyze the nature and effect of abstraction systems. With an unbelievable longlist of vvvv workshops we made heads spinning and with the performances we created astonishment. NODE10 was a week long highly creative rush of discussions, theoretical and practical lectures, workshops, presentations and events. Thanks everybody who made this week in November 2010 such a good time. This is the (award winning) paper that I gave at Brunel's Researching the Arts Conference 2011. Sorry the resolution is too low to see the graphics properly on this version. I'll be eventually uploading a prerecorded version.

May 7th 2011 Temporary Cities was performed live projected onto the rear face of the New Museum in New York. This coincided with the Festival of Ideas for the New City in the neighborhood surrounding the museum. Temporary Cities is a performance using an augmented reality visual instrument, computer vision, and live synthesized sound. Presenting a whimsical design format for future cities, the performance draws inspiration from contemporary trends towards elaborate and disposable systems in software and architecture. Unfortunately Dan Peterson was not accompanying me to provide the sound for the performance. More details on the project: http://temporarycities.com

              21:15

              from Pierre Proske Added 195 5 2

The Tele-roulette is a reworked retro transistor TV that broadcasts a constant stream of random videos plucked off YouTube.com. Search engines are determining our sources of information, guiding us towards what they believe we want through increasingly complex heuristics. As a result we are fed only a small slice of the possibilities the Internet has to offer. The motivation for Tele-Roulette is to monitor the pulse of the web and capture the zeitgeist of the Internet through a stream of random videos. The result – different every time, but most likely intriguing, then dull, then disturbing, then really really funny. The diversity and volume of visual information gathered is filtered through a familiar "old" technology, the TV set, which is rapidly becoming obsolete as a Radio Frequency (RF) content provider. Employing a television instead of a web browser helps to ground and contextualise the changes in media consumption we have been subject to since the advent of Internet streaming. We are deluged with options and configuration possibilities these days. Tele-roulette is a solution to this. Just sink onto the couch and switch on the box. The videos of tele-roulette are found objects for the 21st century, discarded fragments of people's lives uploaded and then swiftly forgotten. The limitless stream of content pays homage to the 19th century concept of the sublime. The Tele-Roulette is powered by Raspberry Pi hardware and openFrameworks software.

Sosolimited created this movie for the OFFF festival in Paris. We pointed our software at the apologies of celebrities, politicians, and corporations. We look beneath their apologetic words, under their tones of atonement, and behind their sad eyes to see what they're really saying.

The Doors of Perception //Live Visual Performance Create a new form as dating the elements of perceptions - movement, light and sound - in virtual reality. The world is the space that has no shape and sense, tons of memories come out involvedly. When we come out the doors of perception, at last, we can experience the fact that 'everything is in everything'.
