THE GREY AREA is a documentary short film focused on the perspective of one masculine female as she gives insight into how the antiquated stereotypical definitions of gender that still exist affect her life. This trailer has been conceptually designed as a point-of-view perspective based on what it's like to be a masculine female living day to day, interacting with friends, family, coworkers, and strangers. Every line is a direct quote from the life experiences of the film's co-director and main subject, Keagan Anfuso. Family is meant to be a safe place to live in harmony. A place to share your hopes, fears, happiness and sadness. A place to rest and revive, but too often for women and children it's a place of oppression, and for men, a place where they fight for control.

Fight For Our Rights - Nationwide Protest - March 4 2015 – Melbourne On March 4 2015, tens of thousands of Australians across the country joined together in a spectacular show of unity to protest the intentions of the Abbott Liberal Government. *Our rights at work are again under attack from the Abbott Government and employers. Just last month, it became even clearer that the full-scale Productivity Commission inquiry into our rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers. The time to stand up and fight back is now. We can’t stand by while the Abbott Government destroys our living standards by: • cutting wages, conditions and our rights at work, • slashing Medicare and hiking up the cost to see a doctor, • introducing $100,000 university degrees, • cutting the ABC and our public services, • cutting the pension and superannuation, • implementing harsh changes to unemployment benefits, and • cutting community services that support our most vulnerable. *Information copied from Fight for our Rights on 4 March http://www.australianunions.org.au/national_day_of_action Australian Unions website http://www.australianunions.org.au/ Written, Filmed, Edited, Produced and Directed by Adam Basile. The camera was a Sony Cyber-shot Exmor R 10.2mp DSC-TX5 filmed at 720p 29.97fps. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 & Photoshop CS6. This was my final project for Sociology and the mass media. I started writing this song sarcastically at first but then I realized the depth of what I had embarked on. The result is the realization that, "there's no oppression going on!" In the depths of my realization I knew that I could not present it to the class and perform the song because i would come across in a manner that was not my intention. Therefore, I entered the classroom with this video and presented it as if I was a Sociology professor. At the end I told the class as you can see the people need us to start telling them the truth in order for us to produce a society where the human consciousness can thrive. The mass media is in effect programming us from a very young age which is detrimentally oppressing us from the true nature of our power. It is a good tool if we seek to use the media to promote awareness instead of promoting unconscious escape from reality. Let's thrive!
