Based on a quote from my mother's oral history, "I always had my sisters," I imagine and reflect upon the notion of "sisters are special." I explore this particular familial relationship through interweaving interviews, narration, and family photographs of two generations of sisters. I will present this work at NACCS, 2012.

JEW(ish) is a thought provoking work of theatre centered on an individual’s search for his cultural identity. Eye Spy Arts – theatre makers Liat Rosenthal and Oliver James Hymans – presented a reworking of their celebrated theatre performance at the SUSPENSE London Puppetry Festival 2011 – the award-winning puppetry festival produced by The Little Angel Theatre. The performance weaves together an imagined Jewish heritage with real family oral histories, stories and memories. Traveling from shtetl to city, from past to present, and from the personal to the political, Jew(ish) explores cultural identity and the sense of belonging. Jew(ish) is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council England and the Unity Theatre Trust.
