This is the second or part two because of space limitations, anyway moving right along. Our Children,Our City,I honestly think the name says quite a bit about this gathering of people some we are sure more concerned than others but they all showed up to participate. We point out that while for some of the students it may have been a class project others showed up because they were interested to what degree I can't honestly say.We hope that with the upcoming sessions much will be accomplished.Remember it's half full and we want it to Runneth Over. God Bless The Children!!!

Here we have various groups including Executive members of the SFUSD gathered in San Francisco's Fillmore District to engage youth from the Community in an on going effort to address their Safety,Education and Overall well being.Though avery large task it is felt that with the initiation of " Our Children,Our City " and emersed involvement from some if not all he groups gathered at the African-American Cultural Center that task will be a little easier to acheive. This is the first of four to be held in other locations through out the city. This is part 1.

A 2 week collaboration video project, looking at the 'Unseen City'. Based in Dunedin City, two residents look out over the city and relive what the city means to them. Everything means something different to each person and this is what we tried to portray in this Video/Stopmotion work. from Our City, Our Story / Added

Peter Avramopoulos arrived in Rockford, Illinois in the late 1960s. His father, seeking prosperity, had brought his whole family from Greece by boat. Pete’s prosperity came in the form of the opportunity to do well for himself and his immediate family. As owner of the Potato Shak, the second restaurant that the Avramopoulos family has owned, he’s created a destination for many local residents. The first, Pete's Snack Shack. was lost in the 1980s Midway Theater fire. Pete's older brother George Avramopoulos, with his mild manner and overall energy for life, is one of the reasons so many people frequent the Potato Shak. He's the type of guy who wants to shake your hand, ask how you are and is genuinely happy to see you. He engages in conversation with all who enter, but this story becomes truly unique when polite conversation turns into reality and becomes a dream fulfilled. Ken Johnson, a retired airline pilot, has been introducing people to flying for years. It’s a personal point of pride for him to bring wonder to the eyes of people who have never flown above Rockford, Illinois. To fly about our city at 3,000 feet brings about a true sense of wonder. This past year, Ken took the guys up in the air on his own offer and since their original flight, George has been flying with him many Tuesdays. There's a glimmer in George's eye when he talks of flying; Ken has truly made the dreams of George, our beloved George, a reality.
