A bit of snow on the ground meant that we had to have a mess around with a bit snowyaking at the put in while waiting for the drivers to get back, that ended well... If it wasn't for a group of slalom paddlers and a crowd of onlookers at Abbey Rapids I would have ran Abbey, quite possibly swim :P considering that would be the biggest rapid I would've ran with my Fluid. I've had a good weekend over in the lakes. Saturday was full of walking and photography, Sunday we we're joined by a few friends and had a paddle down the Greta. It was a great day with crystal clear water but I think it would have been a little bit more enjoyable with a little bit more water, the level was 0.76M, 0.9+ would have been a really nice run. The walk out wasn't the shortest but it meant we we're back at the cottage to get changed in the warmth. Photos: Music: Kings Of Leon, Ragoo Camera: GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition

Just a standard run down the North Tyne at 1.21 meters, just a bit higher than the Sunday of the Tyne Tour 2014. I was going to take out my Spice but once I got there I decided It was too cold and I couldn't be bothered swimming in that... That was if I had too, which I don't think I would have but I could barely see 2 foot infront while in the gorge because of the Sun. This video is to be viewed sideways. I shot it with Gerald LaRonde in October, 2013. Gerald's great great great grandfather was Eustache LaRonde. Eustache was a voyageur who crossed the Mud River Portages many, many times. He also build a "fort" at the western terminus of the Lavase Portages, which came to be known as Fort LaRonde. The voyageur plied this water route from the Mattawa River to Lake Nipissing for over 250 years.

Having taken place on the exact same section of river for 19 years now, no other event showcases the advancements in gear, athlete training, and line selection like The Green Race. Steadily year after year the times are faster, the lines are smoother and the crowd is bigger.
