One of 15 destinations video project that I've done for Indonesian Ministry of Tourism in 2012-2013. The dry-shoot was taken with Canon 5D, aerials with Panasonic VariCam and the wet-shoot with Sony Z-1. Raja Ampat or ‘Four Kings’, is the name given to these islands and comes from a local myth. The four major islands found here are Waigeo, Misool (which is home to ancient rock paintings), Salawati, and Batanta. The Raja Ampat islands are a truly natural phenomenon with enormous biological diversity and is one of the best dive-sites in the world. The large Cendrawasih Bay National Park in the north of the island of Papua, otherwise known as Teluk Cenderawasih, includes Indonesia’s largest marine national park, the playground of one of the world’s largest animals: the spotted whaleshark or rhincodon typus. High up in the mountains of central Papua at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, hemmed in by steep green mountain walls, lies the stunningly beautiful Baliem valley, home of the Dani tribe.

The Sawi were headhunters and cannibals when a young couple named Don and Carol Richardson arrived in their village carrying their seven-month-old boy Steve—and a message that would change the tribe forever. The year was 1962, and Steve—and later, three more children—spent their youth among the Sawi, learning the language and embracing the culture in ways that would shape the rest of their lives. Their story was immortalized in the best-selling book Peace Child and a feature film of the same name, inspiring a new generation to take the gospel to the remaining isolated tribes of the earth. Fifty years later, Steve joins his father, Don, and two brothers, Shannon and Paul, to visit the Sawi village where they grew up. What is the state of the church they planted among the Sawi? Are the friends they played with still alive? Will anyone remember the mark their family left on the tribe? Journey with Steve as he travels to the swamps of Papua, Indonesia, to introduce you to the Sawi, and explore the impact of the gospel among a previously unreached people group. - For more information on Pioneers, visit http://www.pioneers.org. - Check out "Never the Same" on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/neverthesamemovie - To order "Never the Same" on DVD or Blu-ray Disc, visit http://www.pioneers.org/store. At just over one nautical mile between them, Kegata and Apowo airstrips in Papua, Indonesia are separated by a deep valley making aircraft an ideal mode of transport between the two villages. Take a ride with the locals in the Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter on the 73 second flight from Kegata to Apowo. Filmed with GoPro HD and Canon S110 cameras. Indonesia. Archipelago country. Thousands of islands. Millions of underwater beauties. North to south, west to east, Indonesia is full of fabulous diving destinations. It's richness in biodiversity made it definitely a PARADISE FOR ALL DIVERS. They say, 'Dive Before You Die.' We say, 'Dive Indonesia Before You Die!' It's a must! ..... Behind the scene. This is a compilation of underwater footages from Alor's crystal clear visibility, Donggala's schools of fish, Nabire's astonishing whale shark, and Raja Ampat's richness of biodiversity. What you have seen was only a sneak peek to Indonesia's best dive sites. There are much, much more to be seen when you go experience it yourself. Unfortunately a lot of people hasn't realized how important is the ocean to their lives, they trash the ocean without knowing that even the smallest thing they dumped to the ocean can affect the whole ecosystem. Trash or marine debris, especially plastic bags, has been one of the biggest threat to the ocean, yet the efforts to overcome this has not been widely done. This has been one of our concern, that's why we're making this video - show you the underwater beauty and also the threat it's facing. We hope we could gain attention and build awareness so that many people, especially divers, is aware to this issue. We've presented this video couple times in every talk show we're attending, and by viewing this video we hope you could be the ocean's agent of change. Enjoy the underwater beauty and keep protecting it. Because if it's not us, who will?
