            • Partridge hunting day with Grupo Salto al Cielo, Jerez de la Frontera, 2014

              from Niche AS Added 202 0 0

Grupo Salto Al Cielo offers unique hunting days on historical grounds in the countryside of Jerez de la Frontera, the heart of Andalucia. We are dedicated to amazing hunting experiences. Hunting on our private estate you will be surrounded by fighting bulls, rabbits, partridges, owls, eagles, deer and grand areas of wheat, cotton, olive trees and sunflowers. And of course the famous vineyards of our pride Lustau, the highest awarded winery in all of Spain. We offer hunts on quail, partridge claim, thrushes, pigeons, rabbits and hares. And both stalking and stand hunting for deer and roe deer. Jerez de la Frontera has an international airport that caters to private and commercial flights. The airport is 20 minutes from your accommodation. You can also land in Malaga, where we will arrange for private transportation to our historical family farm, only 2 hours away. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our staff and all needs attended to. Later you will dine in style as you prepare for an authentic day of shooting. Your accommodation will be at the family farm, Salto al Cielo, which translates to «jump to the sky». This was where the world renown monks of the Carthusian monastery of Jerez would come to die. It’s a sincere and tranquil paradise with a historical church dating back to the 17th century as a majestic centerpiece. This is the very heart of the Carrizosa family. We were the second family to establish ourselves in Jerez de la Frontera in the 12th century. After intense battles our ancestors gained control of what is still today one of the biggest properties in the area. The Carrizosa family has been important to the horse breeding of Jerez, in fact it was at the Carrizosa estate the first breeding of the Andalucian horse was conducted. Some clients are even allowed a private tour of the world's first bullfighter ring dating back to 1979, which is located on our unique property. The shoot spans a vast area and an extensive variety of drives, usually between four and six per day, with anywhere between four and twelve posts in each. Depending on the skills of the shooters, one group of 8-12 clients can kill between 400 and 1.500 partridges in a single day aided by more than 100 local men, 10 horses and several extensive drives in beautiful scenery. After shooting your private loader (making sure you can’t shoot continuously with two shotguns) runs out with dogs to collect your birds, he also carries your guns and chair. All you have to do is walk back to the group. Partridge are challenging birds, because they can come from anywhere. The shooting is somewhat similar to grouse shooting with vast variety of birds; low fast crossing birds, high curling birds, and all kinds of different angles; sometimes even coming from behind. It all adds up to an adrenaline-filled experience, but not to worry, the award-winning sherry from our own private vineyards will calm you down for lunch. With us, your hunting experience will not just be a fantastic day in the countryside, it will become part of your private history. www.gruposaltoalcielo.com Telephone: 956 34 13 54 Email: cuygasa@cuygasa.es

These dynamite birds are reared to exacting standards to perform superbly in the hunting field and challenge the best wing shooters and are additionally a culinary delight surpassing most meats one encounters today. Watch as a team of hunters experience the fast paced thrill of driven shooting with these birds which may be shot in a sustainable manner in large volumes without affecting wild francolin populations thereby allowing hunters to pay a very real role in conservation.
