The positive reviews are flooding in for Anathema's 'Weather Systems', here are a few of them, plus details of the up coming tour. The bar for Weather Systems has been set pretty high with 2010's 'Were Here Because We're Here', but Daniel Cavanagh from the band is certain that the album will exceed these lofty expectations, ‘it feels like we are at a creative peak right now, and this album reflects that. Everything from the production to the writing to the performances are a step up from our last album.’ He continues, ‘This is not background music for parties. The music is written to deeply move the listener, to uplift or take the listener to the coldest depths of the soul.’ The intertwining melodic structures, the profoundly beautiful and intensely powerful - yet simple - songs will transport the listener closer to the heart of life, that is to say, to the heart of themselves. It is also an album of polarity. The play of opposites; light and shade, birth and death, love and fear. The simple truths of life and loss, hope and strength and darker internal themes are all explored here. The album was recorded in Liverpool, North Wales and Oslo, each place significant to Anathema past, present and future. The record was produced and mixed by 5 times Norwegian Grammy nominated Christer-André Cederberg (Animal Alpha, In the Woods...), who Daniel has described as ‘a revelation. His calmness and brilliance has helped to bring about the greatest inter-band chemistry that Anathema have experienced together in their career.’ This career stretches back to 1990 when the band formed in Liverpool. Since then the band have embarked on a remarkable musical journey, initially emerging as pioneers of melodic heavy music and continually evolving over the ensuing years, always remaining true to their original goal of creating forward thinking, meaningful, passionate and honest music. Anathema are a collective of two families; brothers and childhood friends. This album will please fans who call for more of Lee Douglas’s vocals, as her role within Anathema’s brand of alternative, melodic rock has matured to become an integral energy. In this way and more, Weather Systems is the sound of a band finding their voice and growing in stature, moving further along their artistic path with a truly stunning musical vision. Their best ever work? ‘Not yet’ says Daniel, but he does believe that with Weather Systems they have surpassed previous glories; ‘we are pleased and proud of the record and we feel that, alongside the best moments of WHBWH, this record contains our very best work so far in what is becoming a long career.’ Praise for Weather Systems; ‘It is truly majestic, heavenly - Is it another masterpiece? Of course it is.’ TERRORIZER 5/5 (Album Of The Month) ‘Anathema continue to make music that glows with meaning and a love for art’s external powere to touch the soul. Still special, increasingly extraordinary; the band and this album will be cherished.’ CLASSIC ROCK PRESENTS PROG ‘Anathema just might be England’s most consistently brilliant rock band of the last 15 years, with Weather Systems serving as yet more, unmitigated proof.’ ZERO TOLERANCE "Absolute world class" METAL HAMMER (DEU) "...just one word: WOW!" CLASSIC ROCK (DEU) 9/10 "...unbelievable, one highlight after another..." • Barren Earth - The Devil's Resolve (Reviews)

      from Peaceville Records Added 215 4 1

With a wealth of experience from internationally renowned acts, from former members of Finnish metallers Amorphis, to current members of Swallow the Sun, Moonsorrow, and Kreator, Barren Earth presents progressive and folk textured death/doom metal of the highest order. Barren Earth originally appeared in 2009 with the ’Our Twilight’ EP, followed quickly by their debut album, ‘The Curse Of The Red River’ (2010) on Peaceville. Both releases met with a rapturous reception from fans and critics alike, including awards for best new band and best album. Mixed by Dan Swanö (Opeth/Katatonia) at Unisound, ‘The Devil’s Resolve’ continues with all the trademarks one has come to associate with Barren Earth: brutal riffs, gloomy growls, majestic melodies, as well as acoustic and progressive passages. But this time the band has delved even deeper: what was brutal on the first release is now even more so. Likewise, they have raised the bar to a new-Progressive high. Never a band which likes to travel on the middle of the road, Barren Earth take you on a journey through musical landscapes encompassing brutal death metal, doomy vocals (including a guest vocal appearance by Mathias Lillmåns from Finntroll), trippy 70’s prog lunacy, pastoral passages and… bagpipes (courtesy of Jaakko Lemmetty from Korpiklaani) and then returning back to full-on metal mayhem again. Artwork comes courtesy of renowned artist Paul Romano (Mastodon). This special edition of ‘The Devil’s Resolve’ includes the exclusive bonus tracks ‘Martyrs of Devotion’ & ‘World in Haze’. from Peaceville Records Added 1,136 3 0

Brand new studio recordings from the death metal gods, plus newly remastered collection of all the classic Autopsy eps & rarities. One of the early breed of US death metal acts, Autopsy formed in 1987 in San Francisco, and released 4 albums on Peaceville Records - beginning with the classic debut ‘Severed Survival’ in 1989 - before disbanding in 1995, with members going on to form Abscess. Autopsy triumphantly and officially returned from the grave after a 15 year hiatus with the 2010 EP, ‘The Tomb Within’ delighting critics and fans alike. This was closely followed by ‘Macabre Eternal’, the long-awaited and rabidly received fifth album in 2011, with the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles, and Eric Cutler joined by Joe Trevisano of Abscess/ Von fame on bass. ‘All Tomorrow’s Funerals’, is the latest chapter in the history of the death metal legends. This monstrous release contains four new studio tracks recorded late 2011 - including a re- recorded version of classic oldie ‘Mauled to Death’ - plus all of Autopsy’s past EP’s and rarities, which have been specially remastered by the band themselves, totalling 22 tracks all together, resulting in over 73 minutes of sickness. Everything from ‘Retribution For The Dead’ & ‘Fiend for Blood’, to the now sold-out EP ‘The Tomb Within’ is present, including liner notes from the band and new cover art from renowned artist Matt Cavotta (also responsible for the ‘The Tomb Within’ cover). Autopsy have influenced a whole generation of extreme metal bands, from Entombed and Dismember to Darkthrone, and are among the biggest and most respected names in the genre’s history. TRACKLIST 1. The UK’s premier extreme metal antagonists return with their new mini-album which includes an accompanying DVD with documentary and full live performance. A companion piece to last year’s triumphant ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’ album, the ‘Evermore Darkly’ CD/DVD package features new tracks and rarities, with a lengthy on-the-road documentary and a full live set filmed live at this year’s Graspop metal meet in Belgium, as well as the video for ‘Lilith Immaculate’. The CD features brand new track ‘Thank Your Lucky Scars’, plus a special remix of ‘Forgive me Father’, courtesy of Rob C from Anthrax, an extended rendition of ‘Lilith Immaculate’, as well as tempered demo versions of three ‘Darkly, Darkly...’ songs. The mini-album closes with a special taster from Cradle of Filth’s impending orchestral project, in the form of a haunting, classic reworking of fan-favourite, ‘Summer Dying Fast’. The ‘Evermore Darkly’ DVD contains footage from summer 2011, when Cradle of Filth embarked on a rapid spat of tours, accompanied by two eager filmmakers. The resulting documentary, ‘You Can’t Polish a Turd, But You Can Roll it in Glitter’, combined with performance and interview footage culminates in a forty five minute film of the not so glamorous reality of life in a touring band at work and play, as they trawl their way across europe over eight performances. The DVD includes an interview with ghoul-guide Dani Filth, interspersed and peppered with live footage and backstage shenanigans, culminating in the entire hour long set from this year’s highly anticipated Graspop festival appearance.
